Just a note of thanks to the numerous members who have taken the time to post viable info on the forums. :D

After nearly a year in my new hobby of collecting/using knives I have learned a ton of information. Granted it took a bijillion hours of searching and reading, but it was worth it. From blade steels to shapes/ grinds, types etc. I have learned the equivalent of an assoc. degree in basic knives. (not making them - just knowledge about them.)

Case in point. After reading and searching the archives and posts about Carbon fiber scales I knew how to handle the dust and problems with forming/sanding and modifying several of my BM 770s. I recontured the grip and got rid of the nasty high gloss they used on their CF scales from the factory. Thanks to the likes of D. Ralph and others I new about the bad mojo associated with CF dust and the tips on long sleeve shirts, gloves, mask, and wet sanding along with my jury rigged dust collection system from my gunsmithing work proved to be the ticket.

All I will say is the stuff was dusty, and the 770s are now better than ever,
(about like a medium fine bead blast similar to the new 730 CF. After some jeweling of the clip and spacers, they will be sweet dress knives with the BC1 blades. (Did i mention that means no warranty any more? ;) hmm I feel a belt sander or a grinder in my future.)

Thanks to all,

Wade

Wade, you have come to the right place to learn about knives, as I have.

In fact, I am still learning.

Stick around. Almost every other week there are new things to learn about blades and its related subjects.

Cheers. :)
