Hello everyone,
I was just looking at Nick's nice new web page and was going to thank him for all of the information I have seen him post, but its all of you that I would like to thank. I am one of the new guys here and have been doing lots of searches and digging around in past posts. I dont get much time to spend on knifemaking and when I do its 30 minutes here and there, but with all of the information I have found and enjoyed reading it has made my time more useful. I like many others learn by mistakes and books and this forum has helped out enormously. I am hoping to get over to see Indian George soon and have a good time with him and the boys after I have gotten a couple of knives done this winter. (I'll bring the beers George). Anyway I look forward to being a part of this community that you guys have created and my hats off to all of you, for your willingness to share your trade with people like myself we appreciate it.

I think the entire knife community should tip its hat to George for opening his shop doors and teaching the, "This is how not to make a knife," classes!!!

MuHuHAHAHAA.

Just kidding of course! In all seriousness, it's really awesome that George does indeed welcome anyone with an interest in knives to his shop. I flip him lots of crap on here just for fun...but he really has helped a ton of people out!

Make the trip to his place. If for NOTHING else, the comraderie and friendships you can build in the knife community are immense.

I welcome people to my shop as well, but I live in BFE and nobody wants to drive this far :)

I appreciate your kind words about my site. It really is part of coming full circle with this community. I know good and well I was frustrated out of my mind back in '99 when I signed up here. There were so many things I wanted to do but didn't know how.

This place was definitely a big push in the direction I wanted to go!

Of course there are almost countless others I owe my sincere gratitude to as well.

You're in trouble though, it sounds like you're HOOKED! :D

I hope I can help you out sometime :)

Nick: You can tell we share the same B'Day because you are a wise ass too. :D :D
When I started making knives I did not know any other makers in this area and learned the little I know by mistakes. I told myself that if I can help anyone to get started I would go out of my way to do so. This is also the reason I started the New England Custom Knife Assoc.
I also can not begin to tell you the wealth of information that I have gained by being a member of this forum and the friends I have made. ( You to you Ole Redskin and Fatzo :p ).
