Just want to say thanks to those here, who really make a difference. Who take time out of there day and still come here to contribute relevant information, despite all the crap and crud. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE and thank you very much.

+1
Without the excellent information and advice I've gotten here I'd still be completely clueless rather than just somewhat noobish and inexperienced.

Sam, I check the threads daily and if I see something that I might be able to help someone with, I always reply. You must remember that my replies must be taken with a grain of salt. Sometimes I might know what I am talking about due to experience, and sometimes it might just be "what I heard".

I have been guilty, at times, of posting something that I might think is "funny", even though it may not be funny to those reading it. I have learned so much from this forum, and have made life-long friends here.

I too thank those that freely share information. If it were not for dedicated individual knife makers, and collectors who post on this great forum, I would probably still be trying to make "chicken salad from chicken poo".

Thank you all. I have learned so much and have made so many friends on the journey.

Robert

Not sure which side of the fence you count me on but, Thanks! You aren't so bad either, Sammer.

You're very welcome Sam! I'll take #63!!!

Er...uh... Who the f is Nick Wheeler??? ;) :D

Seriously though, I'm with 'ya Sam. I get frustrated with this place sometimes, but it's still a great place with a lot of great guys, information, and "occasional" shenanigans :)

BTW- I just happened across the photos from Ashokan and you look genuinely happy, especially with a cute and supportive lady friend by your side!!! :) I'm happy for you bud!!! :)

I've been here since 1999 and have learned so much that I can now start to give it back. That John White guy is sure cool!

There is a guy named Bruce Bump that ain't a bad guy either. He has sure shared much info (especially through his WIPs) that we can all learn from.

Thanks Mr. Bump. I wanna be just like you when I grow up (if I ever do).

Robert

I definitely would not have progressed to the point I have without this place. I am not a serial poster but a serial reader; there is so much good info here.

Those that I especially learn from I have sought out and met in person or via email; you know who you are THANKS!

The makers here are definitely welcoming and eager to help. In my short time here as an active shoptalker I have acquired more knowledge than I thought possible, and I have barely scratched the surface... Keep it up guys! This forum is amazing because of the community!

63 wins!!!! You get a hug from your dog. I am glad you won, as shipping a hug from your dog to someone else would be a nightmare!

Thanks man, she's my other half I love her! We are working on forging her first knife!

HAHAHA!!! :D I agree, shipping a hug would be a nightmare. I can't even imagine the logistics! Especially if they both had to ship one out. :D

Good stuff Sam!!! I hope you snap/share some photos of her forging lesson!!!  :)

I love this place! I get so much good info and advice here, but sometimes have to wade through the crap to get to it....But you guys are awesome!

I also am very thankful for all of the great advice and time taken to share WIP's etc. Sharing stuff like that Wheeler guy's;) Camp knife WIP is what makes this place good. I have been through that WIP a couple times and still pick up new tricks(because I don't know anything).:D

Yeah, it's so hard to spend any of my precious time checking Bladeforums. HA!

Gotta love shoptalk. I learn something nearly every day here. And even if it wasn't for that, the sheer inspiration from seeing what's possible with knives would keep me coming back for more. Thanks to the masters for paying it forward.

You are most welcome!

Umm, wow! You sure the OP was directing his gratitude your way?? Might want to double check that one just to be sure;) That's mighty presumptuous for a self proclaimed "neophyte". Just sayin........
