I got my Spydie back today! One objection: I had yo go to UPS twice to pick it up. Not your fault, though! I freaked when I first opened the package because the knife looks brand new. Blade had no scratches and was sharpened, handle was mint...save for the modified clip, I thought you just sent a new one! Once I flipped it open, though, I realized the Endura I cradled in my hand was, in fact, my old friend. It was well worth the wait, and the sharpening/restoration was a VERY cool added bonus. A+, Spyderco, on great service! I love you guys!

Steve,

I envy you. I'm still waiting for my Terzuola and Centofante that I sent in early April to return. Danelle told me that Keith (the repair guru) was going to work on them last week as soon as he finished choking and caughing from smoking too much.

I'm longing for the sound of the UPS truck!

Your knives are on their way back..went out of here yesterday, 5/13. They took a little extra TLC.."misc. problems" the repair code said..lol Keith did say they were in incredible shape for being such old knives.
Now go get some lemonade and sit on the front porch stoop and wait for the UPS guy.

Thanks for the kind words. Everyone in this department works very hard to make sure the customer feels like you do when their knife comes back. MANY people call and think their knife was replaced, when in fact it just looks darn good. Our turnaround time is lengthier than some customers think is acceptable, but when they get their knife back, I think they understand that we're not sacrificing quality for speed, today or any day, and they're glad.

As far as I am concerned, a warranty is a favor. I am responsible for breaking the clip off that Endura, so any assistance, regardless of the time it take from the company, is a favor! I work part-time in a bike shop and we turn warranties around a lot faster, but it's a different industry. If I were to send my Santoku in for resharpening, how long would I be without it?

Truthfully, we're looking at a 3-4 week turnaround time right now. We are trying some different avenues, to try and get that down to a more acceptable time, our goal is two weeks. The magic is in finding the fastest turnaround and keeping the same quality.

Guys, I can vouch for the workload! Danelle had two boxes of stuff to ship out before lunch, when we returned the two boxes had turned into three! People were happily working away, music blaring in the background, people dashing hither and yon wearing tiny Police necklace/knives...

Aaaaarrggh! Stop mentioning those little tiny Police necklaces! You know we can't have them, why do you torment us so? They haunt my dreams, I see them in my breakfast cereal, they peek from behind trees when I go out, they...

I've also sent a VERY beat up (ie. abused) Spyderco back to the factory. It had a serrated blade with chips in it, etc.

I can't believe how good of a job they did sharpening it and cleaning it up! I also had to go through the "is this the same knife I sent them?" thing when I got it back.

I don't remember having to wait very long but, even if I did, it was well worth it. Thanks Spyderco. Keep up the excellent work. We notice and appreciate it.

Just want to let y'all know that my Terzuola and Centofante came back today. Thanks to Keith the (smokin') repair guru for the fine job he did and (who else but) Danelle for keeping me informed. It must have been quite a chore to fix my old (aluminum handled) Terzuola. Looks like an extra washer is added to the pivot pin, which makes the handle a little thicker around the pin, but the lock is very secure now. Both of the blades were thoroughly buffed and sharpened. All the scratches on them are gone! I'm very happy to have them back. (They even returned my original boxes!!!) What a service!
