While I realize the hangman's noose isn't the most difficult knot in the world to tie, few people approach such a task with my disabilities. When tested for occupational specialty in the Corps, I tested very high in all but 2 categories. They told me I could have any job in the Corps, except mechanic. I tested sub-normal in both mechanical aptitude and spatial concepts. It is the latter that has always made knot tying difficult for me -- that plus a terrible memory.

Anyhow, want to say thank you for the simple, easy to follow diagram/explanation on the CRK web site. It has enabled me to do a proper noose on only my second attempt tonite. Thank you!

I, too, am pretty hopeless with knots. Most of what I knew of them when I was young I have forgotten. However, there is hope. I discovered a website devoted to knots that is worthy of note. The illustrations and directions are good and the illustrations for some of the more common knots are animated.

Thanks, Wray. I had a couple other links, but not that one. I appreciate it!

I am glad that you found it of interest. I think that it is an exceptionally well done website. It was created by Al Folsom, a long time Scoutmaster and avid Buck Knife collector. I found his "Knot" page through his posts on the Buck Forum.
