This forum is a great source of information, and I just want to say thanks for all the posts that have helped me with my first "serious" knife purchases. After much research and thought, I bought:
1) A Spyderco FRN Delica, fully serrated (brand new on eBay for $31.55 incl. shipping from a top-notch seller, spoonrivercutlery). We have a small ranch and I carry the Delica in my pocket for cutting greenbriar, etc., as I'm walking the property. Removed the clip and just carry in my pocket. Very sharp and effective for this sort of thing. I love how easy it is to open and close one-handed.
2) For my plain-edge, I got an A.G. Russell FeatherLite with the "general purpose blade" in the AUS 8 steel. A beautiful, super-light knife which feels good in the hand and whizzes through the vegetables to go on the grill. (About $41, incl. shipping, from the A.G. Russell website).
I'm very happy with my purchases, and would appreciate comments from anyone who owns either of these knives as to their experience with them.
Thanks again
