Get your mind out of the gutter!! Anyone watching the Spike TV Thanksgiving Bondathon? James Bond flicks? I am a huge James Bond fan!!

I don't have cable TV, so I'm not watching. I usually catch all of the James Bond movies in the theater though. IMHO, Timothy Dalton was the best of the Bond actors, and it's unfortunate that he only did two movies. But I am in a small minority. When this topic comes up in conversation, most seem to think that Sean Connery was best.

I, too, am a huge Bond fan! Yes...I've watched a handful of the movies on Spike this weekend...but I already own all the movies of the 007 franchise.

On a similar topic...I'm bummed out with the recent developments from Universal Exports (OK...I'm not that big of a Bond nut). Brosnan was the best Bond ever with Connery as a close second (with Dalton being the worst Bond in history, followed up by Lazenby...I can stomach Moore, but really don't like him...I know that's a bit unpopular)! I'm completely bummed that Brosnan got the ax. I'll withhold judgment until I see Daniel Craig on screen in Casino Royale...my gut says he'll be just fine...if not one of the better ones (versus the sucking ones listed above). All the delays they've had, along with the squabbles, have been awful for their reputation. I'm extra bummed out that "gadgets" (along with Q), bombs (only one small one is planned), and Bond's classic quips will be be axed...what's Bond going to be doing if not blowing stuff up, being sarcastically witty, and playing with his watch? Without those things, won't it just become another spy movie? I just heard that Judy Dench will be back as M. Rumors are circling about Angelina Jolie being a villian...that would be cool. None of this will dampen my excitement for seeing 007 yet again on the big screen...but I'll have to see if the new direction they're taking this movie will end up remainding "Bondish." That's enough for now.

If interested, here are some great Bond sites featuring outstanding material (including the latest 007 news):

I too would rate Connery and Brosnan as the best Bonds. Connery comes out a little higher though in that the first four movies stayed closer to the books.

Thanks for the links!! I think Sean Connery is the consumate Bond!! Timothy Dalton & Pierce Brosnan did a good job as Bond. Buty who the hell is Daniel Craig?? I am NOT happy about HIM being chosen as the next Bond!!!

I think Daniel Craig will do okay. He was VERY good in "Layer Cake", a top film. And how breath-taking was Sienna Miller in that movie! Gorgeous. So funny when she phoned him & started rubbing her mobile (Sorry, CELLphone!) on the arm of the chair & said she was rubbing the phone on her fanny!
(THAT means something entirely different in England to what it does in the US!)
