With Thanksgiving close upon us I just wanted to find a way to share our own good fortune with others. So many folks, (my own family members included), have been hurt by the most recent spate of storms that have ravaged the country. On top of that, many good folks here on the forums and their extended families have faced difficulties due to health or employment issues.

So, in the spirit of the coming holiday, two lucky winners will have the opportunity to pick a knife of their choice from Mike Latham's CollectorKnives.Net website. Each winner's selection is limited to $100. (Alternatively they may use that credit toward a higher priced knife if they pay the difference.)

I want to publicly thank Mike for generously offering to go in with me on this giveaway when I called and explained what I had in mind, and also for his support of the forums via his dealer membership over the years.

This giveaway is open to any member with a U.S. address. (Unfortunately, Mike is unable to ship overseas.) Naturally, a love of Traditional Knives is a precondition of entering. ;)

Your post in this thread will serve as your entry and we will keep this giveaway open until two lucky members are selected on the evening of Wednesday, November 21, 2012.

Good luck to you all and Happy Thanksgiving to you, your family and friends.

EDITED TO ADD

Gary (Peregrin) has contacted me and graciously offered to receive and forward any knife which might be won by any of our members living outside the United States.
I have replied to Gary and accepted his offer and as a result will automatically enter any of our international members who have already posted here but believed themselves to be ineligible.

If any member living outside of the U.S. should win and decide to take advantage of Gary's generous offer to ship on their behalf, please understand that neither I nor Mike will hold Gary responsible for any potential issues arising from international shipment. This includes any loss, seizure by Customs or any other governmental agency, act of God, etc. Thanks for your understanding...and thank you, Gary.

OOOooooooh.

I do believe I just swooned. Little bit.

Back now:

Let's sing the song of "2."

Thanks so much for the opportunity!

Good luck to you all and Happy Thanksgiving to you, your family and friends.

I'll echo that  :)

That is an incredibly generous gesture! I know that a lot of people will appreciate this. My little sister lives in NY and thankfully wasn't really too hard hit by the storms but did have to do a some mopping up of water and is now getting hit by all the snow. She is a resilient little girl though and has her big dog to protect her. My heart goes out to all others that were not as fortunate! Stay safe and warm everyone!

Wow, gracious indeed. Thank you for the chance. CollectorKnives.net is where I bought my congress, great service there!

I'm in. Thanks to both of you for this generous GA. Heck, the last thing I won was a coconut cake at a PTA meeting 40+ years ago. I can still remember tripping and falling in it entering our home. I still chuckle when I think about it.

Thank you for your generosity Elliott. I'll throw my hat in the ring, the possibilities are too tempting to resist.

Yes, thankful that things weren't worse. For those still suffering from any situation like those mentioned by the op, remain thankful and upbeat, if possible.

Thanks for the opportunity, gentlemen.

Wow! This an extremely generous giveaway. Thank you very much for the chance and good luck to all. Here's to hoping we all have something to be thankful for.
