Today is Thanksgiving in America. A day we set aside to remember those who sacrificed so much to make this land a country, some of the ultimate survivors for their time, and to celebrate all that we have to be thankful for. I'm sure that most of you already know what Thanksgiving is, but if you want to learn more here is a link:

It was originally a religous-based holiday but as most things nowadays has become secular and is more about football, parades, gluttony and getting lit so that you can stand your familly for that one day of the year. I like this time to reflect on all of the blessings in my life.
I have much to be grateful for. My wife and kids who keep me going. My job and my wife's jobs which keeps our family in food and clothes. For a warm home to live in (I'm working at a homeless shelter at night and it forces you to see how blessed you really are). For a working car, because I've been without for extended times before, especially when overseas and life becomes infinitely more complicated and difficult. I'm grateful to live in a country that enjoys all of it's freedoms and for those who fight to keep it so.
And to keep this W&SS related, I'm grateful to live in a place where there is so much pristine land to enjoy and practice my essential wilderness skills. I'm grateful to live in a world where there are so many knives to choose from. And I'm grateful to have Bladeforums W&SS, a place where like minded brothers and sisters can come together to learn from others and to pass on your own hard earned knowledge to others on the quest for knowledge and knives.
Alright, sappiness over. What are you grateful for?
