Anyone have any good Thanksgiving plans? We are having the family here tomorrow. Two daughters, two son in laws, four grandchildren, my wife`s youngest sister ( can we say bit*h?) my brother in law, and their two kids. All together, 14 people. My youngest daughter has to work, as does Snow, who we invited since he is in the area away from home. My plan? Start drinking Bloody Marys about 6, so I can put up with the sister in law. ;)

I have a brother in-law that's a total turd, and gets worse as he drinks, so I feel your pain. Fortunately I don't often get stuck spending holidays around him. You might want to start drinking a few hours earlier. Set your alarm clock for 2:AM and have a Bloody Mary waiting for you on the night stand next.

Father and mother in-law coming tonight and will be staying for four nights. Lots of food prep, eating, and drinking in my near future. Going to put the turkey on the bbq this year...we'll see how that goes. Will try to put the father in-law to work with some indoor painting projects to keep him busy. Should be a good visit as long as I can keep him busy and semi-entertained.

As luck would have it, I am able to take a bit of time off this weekend. I'm going to head up north to Blue Mountain, relax on the family property, go fatwood hunting, and make some char cloth. A Hudson Bay will be involved.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone south of the border. May your food and drink be plentiful and your relatives tolerable!

All the best,

- Mike

My wife's son and his wife and their 1 year old have arrived from Portland, OR. Nice people in spite of being from the land of the liberals. My wife made me put away all my knives that I keep laying around.

As for today I'm going quail, chukker, pheasant hunting. The wife said they would plan on cooking the turkey anyway not expecting me to get enough game for Thanksgiving dinner.

As of right now it looks like I may be in beautiful Wayne MI. It's a good thing I stopped at the grocery store this morning, there is nothing here.

I have to work tonight at 8pm, get off at 4:30am Turkey day. Sleep as much as I can, shoot over to my parents house sometime before 3:30, leave for work at 3:30 hopefull with a lunchbox full of leftovers!

My parents and wifes cousin's family is coming to my house. I have the firepit/outdoor activity center cleared up for the menfolk pre-dinner shenanigins-shooting air rifles playing with knives etc.
After dinner we'll hike to the creek.
During evening left overs we watch " Christmas Story" (Ralphey and the Red Rider BB Gun). A yearly ritual.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Sleeping all day and taking care of runny nosed kids all night! Would you believe we had an 11 year old come in at 1am Monday night? Story is that she stubbed her toe on the fireplace Saturday and it still hurt.

"Have you tried anything for the pain like Tylenol or Advil?"
"No."

What is wrong with people? I can't believe her mother brought her in. Great news, even if your toe is broken, it doesn't change a thing!!

Anyway, rant over. Sorry John. Thanks for the invite. Needless to say, I'd much rather be at your house on Thanksgiving.

Going to my Familey's house for Dinner for the first part of the day & then off the her Family's house for the Evening ! Tons of food  I'll be eating left-overs for a week :D
Happy ThanksGiving guy's !

We are going over to my Mom's in the afternoon for Turkey.

I plan on spending the morning chopping crap up wit my newly arrived
RUSK MAX!

Other than that, not much. We are probably going to watch the last couple of 'Sons of Anarchy' gain. Maybe take the A/C unit out of the window. I've been planning that for weeks. Then, something shiny distracts me....

Well I got two pheasants, a chukkar and 16 quail. And a sore back. Had to take some Crown Royale for the back. ;)

Spending the morning cleaning the house. Having my wife's family over in the afternoon for mesquite smoked turkey with all of the fixings.
Should be OK as long as my father-in-law doesn't start to lecture my kids. His favorite tirade is how life is tough and you have to work hard every day.:barf:

On the bright side, both of my sons are home from college for the weekend. It is nice to have a chance to catch up with them.

Have a happy Thanksgiving all!!

Ill actually be on the ambulance today for 24....But Il be up your way this weekend visiting my folks. Maybe Ill get to sneak off and check out the JK compound!
