You can search that auction site yourself.

Anyone care to guess if that was legit or a shill? At least a shill of Bidder 8. Bidder 7 seem legit and just got taken something fierce. WOW!

$280????

Come on! That's unbelievable. Maybe I could get $900 for one of my BATAC's. EEEK!

Yeah...I saw that and couldn't believe it........some people just need these like crack. Though crack seems to be cheaper at times!

Probably shill bidding. Maybe they want to drive the prices up on some knives they are sitting on.

Then of course, when the shill "wins" the auction, they will offer the knife to the other bidder at their maximum bid price.

I hate E-prey.

I'm not so sure it was a shill bid on the winner. The OTHER bidder looks shilly. (No time on Ebay, odd bidding habits, etc.,). But the winner RE-bid shortly before close to ensure her bid was high enuf.

Very strange either way. If it was a total shill, I hope the choke on the steel. If not, I feel bad for the winner.

The seller is a member of the Scrapyard forums and said it was an honest sale and shocked him too.

Quite a rare knife with that handle but that's a huge price to pay when I'm sure there are others out there going for close to cost. Great knife though.
Mine's not for sale.:D

Is Scrapyard even done with production runs of the Dumpster Mutt? I can never tell what's coming and what going with them.

It's relisted. ???? Either he's got several or the buyer realized her folly and he let her out of it.

The Dumpster Mutt was a very limited one time run. It will not be back.

Shill bidding seems totally retarded to me, since the buyer (who is bidding on their own auction) has to pay the final value fee to fee-Bay. The final value fee on that $280 would be around $8, plus whatever the listing fee was. It could easily cost $10 just to not sell it. I don't get it.

Why do they keep it listed on the "knives" tab on their site? I think I have figured out how Busse Combat itself works, but I still can't make any rhyme or reason to Scrapyard and SwampRat's systems.

It's a list of the knives that have been available. If you hang out at the Scrapyard forums Dan will give a 48hr, 24hr notice of when new knives will go up in the store. Then the mad rush begins, kinda like ganzas here.

SwampRat is kinda the same, but Eric just posts a come and get them message on both SR forums. Some days the knives last 7 mins(SS4) or 3 days(Dog Father), same with SR. Also there are sometimes additional runs and the model comes back for a short time(HRLM and S6)
