Hi everyone. Another new recruit here, so I wanted to introduce myself.
A couple of months ago, I was looking to round out my fixed blade collection with my very first Busse. Lurked on the exchange here for a while until I found one that really spoke to me a Custom Shop SOB. I really liked the serrated swedge and double-cut finish, so I pulled the trigger. Once I received that beaut and finally held a Busse in hand, I realized what all the fuss was about. It just feels right.
(Please excuse the crappy quality of the pic.)
A couple weeks went by and I was really enjoying getting to know my SOB. But at the same time, I found myself continually going back to the exchange to check out the latest offerings. Before I knew it, my SOB had a new big brother to keep it company... an RMD that a fellow member was selling from his grab bag. (Explaining another back-to-back knife purchase to the wife sure was a blast.
)
Had some fun using the RMD in the woods but the damn exchange kept singing its siren song. It didn't take long before I was back here looking for yet another Busse. None of my current blades are longer than 5.5, so Ive been thinking a lot about the TG-M as a first foray into larger knives.
Lo and behold, I made an offer today on my third Busse a TG-M in tanker gray. Damn, these things are multiplying! As Ron Burgundy wisely stated, Boy, that escalated quickly... I mean, that really got out of hand fast! It's definitely time to simmer...
By the way, I wanted to mention that this is a pretty cool forum. Ive only been lurking for a couple of months, but its amazing to see the level of enthusiasm and camaraderie around here. Its been interesting just picking up more of the brand-specific vocabulary mummies, dings, talons and the tens of thousands of acronyms. Lot of learnin to do.
