Ed has managed to push 52100 even farther than he did just a short time ago in this example of his craftmanship.

 That is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Does the man forge the steal or does the steal forge the man? Ed's knives are like no other. He has poured a lifetime into his Craft/Art and just when you think it can't get any better............ Thanks for a needed Fowler fix!

Beautiful knife! I love the blade shape and quench line. Thank you for sharing.

That would have to rank up there with my favorite Fowler knives. Congrats!

Ed is a class act and he makes some great knives. I prefer a more classic bowie style, but I would never turn down the chance to own one made by Ed.

Droooool! It is a lifetime goal to own one of his knives one day. Since a little of the maker gets forged in with his blades, you get an excellent knife with a piece of great guy forged right in. I met Ed at a show many years ago, and he was one of the all time nicest guys to talk with. And holding a Pronghorn is unexplainable, it literally melted into my hand like it was an extension of it.

I gotta agree with you guys about Ed and his Knives. I'll try and get a better photo next time.

Mckgreg,
Thanks for posting a picture of it, it's a beautiful knife. I have to agree with tknife, Ed's knives are perfectly shaped to the human hand. The perfect mixture of function, nature, and art.

JUST BE CAREFUL, his knives cast a spell on you, the more you think about them.
David :)

I hope Ed doesn't take it too personally, when I say this, but I am only so-so in my feelings about his small hunters with the big ole sheephorn handles. I like them, but am not in love with them, as they seem a little out of proportion to me, sizewise. Just my personal opinion, so please don't beat me up too much about it. :) This knife, however, really floats my boat. I love everything about it(all except for the part where I will never have enough money to afford it).

Although I have not yet held a Fowler pronghorn in my hands, I have a vision of how it feels to have one.

I believe it is the personification of the creator himself. So much creativity, thought and hardwork have gone into it that it can't be anything but near perfection.

The Excalibur, I believe, would only be the next step. :) ;)

Greg,

Wow, what a beauty! Nice horn and I love that blade shape, what's the length? I'm still not sure whether it's the horn, the steel or the contours that Ed gives his knives that I like more. That "bleeder" style clip is better admired in three dimensions. It gives the point a nice profile but it's hard to see at that angle. Bring it to the Blade show! :D

The blade length is just a tad under 6" and the overall is just under 11". This knife has quite a story behind it that makes it very special to this particular knifer. The visible grain structure is different from what Ed was accomplishing just a short while back. He continues to work 52100 to unprecedented levels.

You're going to throw out a teaser like that, then leave us hanging?

Roger

Well, the story is like this. Wait !! That is highly classified information !!
I guess I could tell you but, I would be bound by duty to terminate the recipient of this information.
