i've heard and read some stuff about the 120 General being discontinued. is this true? and if so, would it make a nice investment if i bought one right now? i've already got a 119 Special and i love the feel, look and use of it, but i also wanted something bigger. then i found out that there was also the 120 which looked exactly like the 119, but only quite a larger blade. i like it and i want it. anyone knows if there are any differences at all concerning materials and intented use betweeen the 119 and the 120?

There is no difference in materials, just the blade length. The 7-1/2" blade made it a great replacement for the Mark II (Ka-Bar).

Dennis,
Its hard to say what the future value will be on a 120 purchased today. I can say that it is still a popular model. It has it roots way back in the 1950's when Buck sold a model 104 Fighter. The 104 had a narrower blade and a handle of Lignum Vitea but it was basically the same at the 120.
I hope this helps.
