difficult question...
on which i answer by.. some questions !
do you want a big or a small folder?
big => CRKT 16 or wortac
small => caly or native III

do you want it "tactical" or not?
yes => Wortac or NativeIII (a bit more tactical than caly Jr)
no =>CRKT16 or caly Jr

Or you just want the cheapest knife => CRKT 16 (good one that could handle everything !)

Best bang for the buck! A great little 440 production folder for around $23 at NG with low ride clip.

Without a DOUBT! The finest, most superlative, utilitarian, and inexpensive knife in the entire universe, known or UN-known.
This triumph of the cutlery world will do everything you can imagine if you don't waste too much time imagining too much.
But....a....SAW!!!
My God, man, where else can you get a saw, toothpick, tweezers, can opener, THREE screwdrivers, an awl, a bottle opener, and .....the ULTIMATE in perfection of blade length..... THREE AND ONE HALF INCHES?
Everything else is rotten garbage unfit for scraping rust off a nail, much less PURCHASING!

The Vickie OHT! All hail!!!!!!

    :p :)

Here are knives I have first hand experience with:

Spyderco's import brand 'Byrd'. Their Caracara and Meadowlark models are great big bangs for a few bucks.

Out of curiousity I tried one of Buck's imports, the Tom Mayo designed Hilo model, blade of 440-c. Pretty good bang for the buck.

Kershaw's Storm models are also good bang for the buck knives.

And, as far as fixed blades go, Benchmade's NRA knives in 440-c are very good bang for the buck knives, IMO.

Lots of really good knives for people who have to buy on a budget to be found out there nowadays. Happy hunting!

Gonna have to agree with the Buck 110. Great knife. Really dang good Fit and Finish, and still put together by hand here in the USA.

2nd Place goes to Benchmade and their Griptilian's.
