I look at this forum and see folks desperately seeking information on all kinds of Buck Knives.
Seems their hunger can not be quenched with jest tidbits of data.. nay,
they seek a end to the quest for more knowledge
Many desperately ask did they ever make a...
or why that was or why not this...
or does ANY one know the rhyme or reason for ....
This line of inquiry goes from the simple- where is the pin
to who made the tiny part that is on a ......
Many hear of obscure LE's and Customs or that elusive mystical knife called a prototype. Many also want to know if there is one they are missing in their collection or
They all have such a ardent desire for information that they end up here...seeking more light in buck knives...
Many want to know if they are missing some thing ...

I, my self have gone through this many many times, sick in mind and heart with Buck Knife fever and a torrid desire for more Buck Knife knowledge.

One year I went to the best source I could think of to ask for things and asked for The Compleat book of information about Buck Knives for my self and here is what I got back:

Dearest Dave,
I have been watching you and also over heard your wife saying that you have been a good man this last year. I am much afraid that I can only provide you with a regular Buck Knife once a year, you will have to see Joe Houser about the rest.
I have left most of the other things on your list that i feel will make your day so.... this letter is concerning the only one I can not find. …

Re: Concerning the gospel and final word to collecting those Buck Knives you so dearly love and want to put in order…

TRULY it seems that there is NOT a consummate "Book of Buck" containing 'All the Data' on marking, dating, defineing what was made when it was made and why it was made the way it was. Of all the nice things that have come from those incorrigible boys and girls at Buck ( whom i tried to recruit as elves) they seem to have never put any thing down on paper!
{Note I checked with Father Time and he said there was nothing in the Time Past Vault and the New Year Baby only giggles over what is coming and wont say a word}….
It seems that the sum of all thatloop knowledge resides in bit and pieces in the minds and hearts of the many soles that receive or give a Buck.. so Davie my friend,
I hope you continue to be a good fellow and continue to try to be kind to others and not piss any one off esp your wife as she and all other wives have direct lines to my list making elves…
Most fondly yours
Santa C.
PS: I missed them but you should check with Uncle Sam and Davy Jones. Other wise your best bet since Vern has gone home is to gather every bit of information you come across your self and share or exchange with your friends so you all can learn..
PSS: Ugh … would you let me know if you find out anything? It seems to come up often on my request list and... well...
I would like the information also!!!
PSSS:If it is real good info I will get you and extra buck... mabe...ok?

SO there you buck nuts go… so continue to share info and be nice. And be not afraid to

you come across that you think any one else might want to know!!!!
and -YES Pictures of any thing=

more than knowledge, think we all want one of Dave's 110s.....:)

Welll ... due to 110 buck fever i wants...
I will be thinning the herd of the new 111's i have and some of the original drop point 425s currently taken up spots and letting duplicates go to a new herd....

David used to chase me up trees..But he DID take me to Atlanta and introduced me to the World of Buck knives..He also gave me my first 112 he scratched on with a sorta rusty looking blade from the last century..And a few other old ones from way back then. ..

110Dave or just Dave gets to say whatever he wants within the rules of the forum of course. especially if he posts pics of his collection while saying things.......then he gets an extra pass......:)

now pics of him wearing a kilt.....that's a different story.......:p

White socks. Trust me. You do not want to see my toes.
They are bent and bumpy.
Several of my toes have not touched the ground when I'm barefoot since I was a kid.
They grew over the top of neighboring toes.

To say my feet are "gross" would be the understatement of the last 100 plus years.

WAY too many details, starting to form a pic in my head...:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

See what you started Dave, Stay out of the shed!!!! :p:p:D
