I had a similar experience once with a ScotchBrite pad on a 7" angle grinder when I did metal fab work (mostly grinding/polishing) at a yacht company. Hit the slab of stainless at an odd angle and the grinder skipped off and sliced neatly through both layers of my pants pockets close to the inside of the thigh. Miraculously it stopped there and didn't damage my boxers in the slightest. Gave me a good case of the shakes!

Shopping for codpieces now? Would love to see folks faces walking into your shop and seeing that, in fact now you have two reasons to do it!

... I feel like i'm missing something... oh yeah, my custom made and differentially hardened steel cup!

Glad you're safe!

Happened to me once while sharpeneing with paper wheels, wasn't paying attention and caught the edge... just really lucky that the knife was launched sideways and not directly backwards.

Close call. I had a close call to but i would have split my gut open. So I've been wearing my mnandi around my neck with the CRK pouch. I went to sharpen one of my kitchen knives on the wicked edge. When I was done I went to loosen the blade and the wieght on the handle made the knife swing towards me. I pushed back to get out of the way and it sliced a good ways into my CRK pouch before falling to the floor. If i hadnt been neck carrying my Mnandi, I don't would not have been good.
