...that damn 'Crocodile Dundee' knife...

Maybe these hard to find pics will entice some of you talented knifemaker folk to make one similar so people stop sending us poor Aussies requests for info and have something solid to look at! ;)

Hmmm, about a 9" blade - 5" handle, Single brass guard (tapered & solid!) and handle butt (nicely rounded), thick bowie style blade probably around the 2" wide mark, 1/4" carbon steel, fuller, clip point with good belly and the handle seems to be leather wrap with a croc or snake skin overlay. Sheath is simple, croc skin low ride with a sharpening steel on side.

"Thats not a knife......." :D

Either way. I have some Vaseline Intensive Care to take care of the roughness of the croccodile hide...use to use it on snake hides. So will ya mate? :D

Consider it done Cindy...

I'll get this outback bad boy in the post fist thing in the morning! :D

However, I doubt Geno will appreciate a half naked Aussie being delieverd by UPS at 7 in the morning...

Well I'll appreciate it. If it doesn't work out do you have an RGA number to send 'im back to you if doesn't like grits? ;)

Ahh, if he doesn't play the game, put him on the band saw...he's a good worker... ;)

The New Paul Chen Outrider looks awfully similar. Next time you get a request maybe you can just tell them to go buy one of those.

Incidently, the smith who made that knife, Daniel Watson, is a forumite here under the name "Knightsteel". The knife has a nice hardwood handle, but the movie people covered it up with a leather wrap to make the knife look more "rugged".

That looks like one of the Jimmy Lile Rambo II knives to me, but I'm just guessing.

I would guess a flying Busse of some sorts. Either that or something out of the Crosscut Saw Company catalog.

It's probably one of two things:

A) A random big bowie knife they had from decades ago at the movie prop shop where you rent out weapons for movies.
B) A custom knife done just for the movie, such as the knife from Spartan.

Either way, I'm gettin a Fallkniven Odin if I gotta get a bowie... :)

A pic of the Lile 2 saw teeth boys!
Ah Ha, just as I thought and a fine picture it is. Gundy, UPS brought a Dingo. Not the Croccodile Hunter nor Dundee...liked to have torn the jowls off of the delivery man after opening the crate. Where's me outback man?
