This model has been in the back of my mind since i first saw them offered. They look to me like something a Gurkha officer might carry into battle or maybe even something that would've been carried into battle during the Thapa era and the unification of Nepal.
When i saw this one it just spoke to me because of it's size and weight plus the durn thing is gorgeous.
To me, the one i have here feels like a fancy M-43 with a bit less heft, although it seems somewhat broader bladed.
It also kind of reminds me of the Tin Chirra, but with less spine width.
The nicely figured handle (which my pics don't do justice) is wonderfully comfortable. It is hand filling without being obtrusive about it and locks into my fingers like it has always belonged there.
I think those that wish for a lighter M-43 model would be pleased with this one in this size.
I did a little chopping on my test block of seasoned firewood. It ate it up and didnt want me to stop. i'm confident that this one could go blow for blow with my 18" CAK of the same weight.
All in all, I think Rajkumar has done a superb job and he is becoming one of the best we have.
I might even go so far as to say that he is on his way to being my favorite Kami besides Bura.
My wife and those that know me, know i can be pretty descriminating when it come to my blades. I like them to look good while doing what theyre supposed to do, although i will not turn away a nice blem because of a minor flaw or three.
Enough of my babbling, time for some crappy pictures.....
