TKCL is an email list of collectors and makers and many of the members contribute here. Each year makers offer up a design for the TKCL annual knife and the designs are voted on.

This years knives were from Thomas Haslinger and Junko and Michael Fong.

Thomas' kitchen knife arrived a few weeks ago. This one has has a burlwood handle with mosaic pins and a BG-42 blade.

Edited to advance 1 decade in time :D

The 2002 folder was made by Michael and Junko Fong.
Nick Smolen 1084/15N20 Damascus blade and bolsters, gold lip scales and TI liners, Iolite thumbstud. A very well done gents knife with action and lock up just as solid as any liner lock in my collection.

I have the Haslinger knife but it is already scratched up a bit from Thanksgiving! I bought two of the Fong knives as I have two of essentially all of the tkcl knives and the "non-tkcl" knives. If you'd like to see mine, go here.

I don't have these two knives up yet but it should be soon.

Actually, that is a kitchen knife. Thomas makes some of the nicest kitchen knives you are going to find anywhere.

Gus, what exactly do you mean by 1992 TCKL knives? It obviously can't stand for the year, since I would take it that these are the 2002 knives.

Hi Keith, gettin' old sucks - I am a decade behind the times :).

I don't know Gus. As a Georgia Tech graduate and an Atlanta native I just assumed the decade thing. Just flew in a few weeks ago from Houston and the pilot said:

"Welcome to Atlanta. Please set your watches ahead one hour and your calendar back ten years."

Last year Mr. Haslinger was gracious enough to assist me with a present for my wife. It was a very, very nice kitchen knife with a 6" blade, blond micarta handle, custom pins and a special message embossed on the blade for my wife. She was extremely delighted with that gift and uses the knife everyday.

Thanks again Tom for such a fabulous knife. It is the best I have every had the pleasure of giving, owning or using.

I highly recommend Tom Haslinger's work.

Thanks.

:)

I have all of the TKCL knives and the pen. WOnder how many others have the entire set...
