measured, cut and pressed last night... will get cut, drilled and riveted later today, but seems to draw out without a problem

I'm personally jealous of people that make a good kydex sheath...Its something I CANT DO :D! Looking good so far man.

It might have something to do with the way your bathtub drains the wrong way in kagaroo-land. Kydex is easier to work with in the Northern Hemispere. Probably all the radiation.

did u press it with a liner of some sorts? the outline looks like a long rectangle...not the curvy 4 lines. Would solve the issues I was imagining when drawing up a kydex sheath for the 4 the other day. Curious to see this when its complete!

getting there, messed up the throat a bit before I remembered a crucial detail when doing recurves...you have to fill the void between tip of belly to ricasso with something that will let the blade out - a template cut from wood, leather, plastic, whatever. The rectangle outline was me using the blade sleeve to create space, but it wasn't enough so I cut a piece or plastic to fill up the void. I will finish it when I get home and rivet 2 more holes and sand/shape all borders.

got a bit carried away with the heat gun at a bump on mid-spine lol

Go into an outhouse and inhale deeply! :D

I'd say 95% done...still have to sand every border, and later fabricate a belt loop with a drop strap. I did this just because I wanted to see if I could do it, but I gotta say that the factory sheath feels really good at the hip with a leg cord, very natural position with the angled handle. I won't get rid of it and will alternate between both.

That is lookin NICE man! I really like how u shaped it around the handle-mouth.

For sure a excellent design on a tricky shaped blade!
Thanks for the pics, wld like to see it again when u get that last 5% completed

Nice work. Have thought about dabbling into the kydex world myself.

That is some nice work, need to learn about working kydex so I can try something like that out.
I want, my BK4 wants...gimme!

it's done!

retention at the throat is good even tho I might have removed a bit too much material; I can hang it upside down, give it a shake and it won't come loose. Still grabs a bit mid-pull at the belly, but with use and a coat stripping later it will be gone. The outline borrows a bit from skystorm's leather sheaths, I just love that shape. It's near perfect to me, only flaw would be the mid-spine melt but I view it as a battle scar so yep, it's perfect to me :D hope you guys like it!

The axes were there for deco, only held down on one hole as it has 2 screws, but I decided they were just right for the sheath - war axes for the machax - so Yesterday I went ahead and drilled another hole for it but didn't rivet it as it would have closed the throat tighter, and it would have hampered the draw. As suspected, with the original screw it was too tight, but I swapped it with a longer chicago screw and now it's great! Im happy with my rig.

even tho the holes are spaced for a big tek lok, I fashioned a dangler type attachment with kydex, a d-ring and an adjustable nylon strap (I don't like my big knives riding high), will let you guys know how it works, glad y'all like it
