Hey guys, if you stock removal guys were able to have ANY (not yelling just emphasizing) oven you wanted what would you get. This is a serious question, not a general forums what if? I really want to know what I should get. Blades no longer than 18" OAL. Thanks guys, I almost feel as we have our own forum here, as everyone tries to help each other. No trolls :)

blades that are 18 inch the tang needs to be around 5 inch and then you need a buffer of an inch or more from the elements in th ekiln

im going to say you had better buy least that 24 inch i have an 18 and while its great i want an 36 inch now and then

Paragon or Evenheat? Which one is higher quality? I have looked at both but am not sure. 27" would probably be the limit because I will not be making swords, so that should narrow it down.

best is heat treat in salt ...but thats something else

i've got a 40inch evenheat and its good... i'm not sure what you want... i don't have any experience with a paragon but both brands are solid and do exactly what they should do.. ... so pick... silver color or blue.. ?

I may be a bit biased and would have no trouble trying a paragon. That being said I have a
18" evenheat 13ish years old that is still on the same original set of elements. It will
reach 1975 degrees in about an hour and 20 min, As long as it works I'm not going to fix it.
Ken.

I have a 13.5" Evenheat with analog controls that I have had for 20 plus years. I have changed the elements 1 time and it was my fault for trying to cool the oven down too fast to temper temperatures. I back up the analog pyrometer with a remote digital pyrometer to make sure all is right. I don't plan on ever getting another oven, I am well pleased.

The reason I bought my Evenheat kiln over a paragon was the door.I like the fact that the door swings out of the way for removing blades and I don't have to hold my hand over a 2k deg door to do it.
Saying that.Both are quality products.
