Last week, I bought a BK-4 from the used knife counter in Kittery Trading Post, it looked brand new, had the factory edge, I put it to use splitting wood for the outdoor fireplace, cutting up watermelon, and general knife work, loving the performance , the 4 is a brilliant knife...

Yet something gnawed at me....

There was still a BK-5 and BK-2 left at KTP...

Today I stopped in, traded in some extra knives I no longer use, and got store credit....

And the BK-5!

It's an early model, with stamped tang and smooth coating, it was unused, still with factory edge, I just need to find the right job to knock the newness off it....

So, I'm now up to two Beckers, and I have this feeling I'm going to end up with the new/used BK-2 as well, even though I'm not a major fan...

Congrats! Welcome to the addiction and this side of the nut house haha make sure to check online as well, there are some great deals right now with the 4,5 and 15 being discontinued

Now for the important part... Let's see some pics!

For the longest time I would own 1 Becker at a time, not sure why but no one should just have one!

Kinda' like Lays potato chips that way...
Betcha' can't own just one!

According to the knife counter guy, the BKs there were actually new in box, the previous owner went to a knife rights event in Las Vegas, bought $50 of raffle tickets and won a large collection of KaBar and Becker knives, he traded them in to KTP because he said he "didn't need them" and only purchased the raffle tickets to support the Knife Rights group

So, these are in actuality new knives

Congrats...... You are gonna love what the Five is anxiously. waiting to teach you........

Similar shape, but Very different knives. They don't handle all that similar, the 15 feels more stout and rigid. Likely being due to the 5's length and similar thickness. Though the 15 is nimble, the 5 seems to float, its crazy... The 5 is one of my favorite knives to use, hands down.

A 4 and a 5 - nice additions!

Agree with NJBillK, it is crazy, the 5 does indeed 'seem to float'. ;)

It started with the 7 for me and I just ordered my 5 and it will be here tomorrow and that took me to 6 Beckers. Have fun with them, I'm sure there will be more to follow :D

I was out tonight, closing up the chicken barn, and walked by a wild rose branch that had the temerity to get in my way, out came the 5, a quick slash and snap of the wrist, and *SNIKT!*, the branch fluttered to the ground, the blade literally made a SNIKT noise as it cut the branch free...

The cut was clean, surgical, flawless

The utter ease that the 5 cut the rose with is jaw dropping, I've cut similar size rose branches with the 4, and it requires more force, a much stronger slash, and the cut is nowhere near as clean...

The blade geometry of the 5 is clearly optimized for cutting, and it's an amazing cutter
