The AFCK liner seems awfully thin...

When I saw the Mini AFCK at the knife shop the other day, I liked it a lot. The only problem I have with it is that the locking liner seems paper-thin and flimsy. Is it? I know some of the Mini AFCKs have Ti liners, but for the ones that have steel, is it as weak as it looks? Thanks!

The liner in mine doesn't seem paper thin, it's seems about mid size. The thing locks open solid with very little blade play, and it passed the spine whack test with flying colors. Another good thing is that the design of the grip and placement of the liner prevents you from disengaging the blade (at least for me it does). I'd say go for it.

Actually, the Mini-AFCK doesn't have Ti liners, they are steel. Only the large AFCK has the Ti liners. That is, unless they have changed them on the newer models. My mini has NEVER had any problems with passing the spine wack and is rock solid.

The lock up on my 812 is perfect, very stable and strong. I have NO issue with the lock up on this knife.
