And now for a happy dance like no other...my Ajax arrived today!!!:D

I first got to handle this beast at Darryl's Chino seminar. After picking up my jaw (somewhere at chest level) I immediately put one on reserve. Well, it was well worth the wait. Good lord, that thing is a piece of sharpened HELL in a sheath.

At first the design screams "fighter", and given who designed it, that doesn't surprise me. However, the grip is comfortable and secure enough for chopping, and I can only imagine how that flat ground blade will go through whatever it's put against. The handle is kind of EB style, but with flush edges rounded like an old-school AR.

The sheath is typical SOE quality all the way. The storage pouch is anything but typical though. Most SOE sheaths have a Leatherman pouch w/ fastex release. The Ajax has a massive zippered pouch designed to hold a compact E&E/survival kit.

In short, home-fxcking-run Mick. That's a keeper!!!;)

I just got mine back recently from Skunkworks. Frank did some custom kydex that is totally off the scale. The Ajax is one B**As* cutting machine. I have a breakfront shoulder rig coming soon. Life is soooooo good. Mick-you and Mike are the "bad men" on this one.

Whats retail on that BadBoy. Maybe Ill have to get one of those now. Whats the blade length on that Ajax again.

Thanks
Matt

Hey guy,
I'm glad you got your own...I was trying to hide mine from you and everybody else at the Seminar!:D I was thinking about its deployment while Mr.Mike was speaking to us...whew. Anyway, enjoy and now we have something else to talk about.

All the best,
Joe

Darryl--

Sounds like a Maringer style rig. Very cool, but hell, you could carry it IWB, ya big polar bear...:p

Matt--

The Ajax has about an 8.5" blade. Balances right at the guard. Sucker FLIES, man...price-wise, about the price of one of Mick's 7.5" I think...

Joe--

Good thing you hid yours...it would've come home a little stained if I had gotten my hands on it (drool, etc...:barf: )
I'll email ya later, we can compare our...uh...tools...yeah! That's it!:p

Yea Ryan, it is set up like the old Maringer Vorpal rig. Our little friend Lance worked with John down at SOE to come up with a bitchin shoulder harness, and Frank "the human Anvil" at Skunkworks is doing the Kydex. Unfortunately, if I went IWB with it I could never get it out due to the safety roll hanging over my belt.

Hey DB,
Do me a favor please and give me a call on the cell. I am looking for more info on your shoulder rig.
Thanks Buddy,
Joe

HEY GUYS, HOW THICK IS THE POINT OF THE KNIFE, WOULD YOU GUYS SAY ITS BETTER SUITED TO LIGHT FIGHTER, OR DOES IT HAVE ALOT OF THICKNESS TO THE POINT SO IT WILL STAND UP TO HEAVY ABUSE. ANY THOUGHTS?
CHRIS

panzer--

The point is wide, but not thick. The knife almost looks as if it has a distal taper. In other words, ya wanna chip concrete, get a BT.;) I should think it'll go through soft body armor (and that which wears it) quite nicely, though...

YMMV, of course.

Soon there will be some pictures up of this Rig and
completely Integratable Carry System.

The user/operator will have the option of Pistol carry configurations, knife carry configurations, incl. Strider folders that will deploy similar to Emerson Wave. Frank and I are excited about it and are ready to go w/ it. Call him and check it out.
It is as close as a universal carry option as anything I have ever seen. Rig will be fully compatable w/ any weapon YOU choose but we are
partial to STRIDER's awesome quality and design's. They WORK period.
