And now for a happy dance like no other...my Ajax arrived today!!!
I first got to handle this beast at Darryl's Chino seminar. After picking up my jaw (somewhere at chest level) I immediately put one on reserve. Well, it was well worth the wait. Good lord, that thing is a piece of sharpened HELL in a sheath.
At first the design screams "fighter", and given who designed it, that doesn't surprise me. However, the grip is comfortable and secure enough for chopping, and I can only imagine how that flat ground blade will go through whatever it's put against. The handle is kind of EB style, but with flush edges rounded like an old-school AR.
The sheath is typical SOE quality all the way. The storage pouch is anything but typical though. Most SOE sheaths have a Leatherman pouch w/ fastex release. The Ajax has a massive zippered pouch designed to hold a compact E&E/survival kit.
In short, home-fxcking-run Mick. That's a keeper!!!
