Saw a special on The History Channel the other day on "The Real Story of The Alamo"
They mentioned there was a Movie in the works that was due to be released this summer.
Hot Damn wait till the trailers come out, One of them stabs a big Ol Bowie into a table...Profile was Awesome!

Big bowies are already popular and have been for awhile now. There has been a real resurgence in this big classic knife.

Keith,
Am I glad too, it is My all time favorite blade style. Especially the S guard in a rustic forged blade.
BTW my forge should be up and running this weekend!

I can hardly wait to see those forged bowies you are going to make.

Robert Hankins, Bladesmith. It has a nice ring to it.

My wife bought me a copy of Knives (maybe?)magazine at the store. There was a story about the bowie for the new movie, The Alamo. I'd never heard of the maker, nor can I remember his name.

Ya' know, when trendy movies come out using objects that I hold very dear, I almost hope that it DOES NOT become a fad.

Goofy things like the dumping of thousands of dalmations on animal shelters about six months after "101 Dalmations" came out. The chop-socky movies got balisong knives banned in just about every juristiction, and about one year ago a teenage girl driving way over her head almost flipped a ricer into the front of my truck. How many of 'The Hunted' knives from TOPS are now on a dusty shelf.

I love Bagwells. I have a custom made by Chang. Someday I hope to have a Iron Mistress, mirror shined with a coffin handle for display, as it was the first knife I fell in love with.

What I don't want is junk Bowies on Ebay, or a rise in drunkards brandishing Bowies. However, the thought of a drunk with a Bowie might make old Jim proud in some twisted way.
