Just to bring this topic up for the larger audience here in the General Forum; after kicking the idea around for a few years, I finally set down with my lovely wife and wrote an extensive article on the development history of the Applegate-Fairbairn (A/F) Fighting Knife. This article may lead to a soft cover book someday, but for now our prime focus is on getting our hard cover book on Randall Made Knives into print.
After the A/F article is submitted and run, our collection may be sold, but only as a collection. Based on the tremendous amount of archived materials that weve amassed, it would be a shame to release it any other way. Also, Ive been unsuccessful making contact with Wm. Bill Cassidy, who was instrumental in getting the modern A/F knife into production; if anyone knows how to reach Bill, please let us know
So, if you have questions about the A/F design that I may be able to answer, or if you have any ideas or suggestions for topic material, please feel free to ask away
Thanks,
Sheldon Wickersham
