My report is as a certified day ticket buyer, and not a table owner. The Hotel is nice, and the room about as large as needed it seems. I sure enjoyed meeting a lot of faces, that I only knew names, and avatar names to. It was nice to meet ol Don Robinson and wife, however she's way to pretty and petit for Don :D They're a great couple. Bill Ruple seemed to be doing ok, as he had sold out completely the day before. Chatted with Ken at K & G for a while, nice guy! One of the gentlemen I wanted to visit with was my sheathmaking mentor Paul Long. I found out later, that as Carrie and I were walking in the door, he was walking out, and somehow we missed seeing each other :( That's OK Paul, I home to possibly see you this week if convient with you. Waco Ken (KandSKnives) and a nice conversation with Carrie and I, and we ran into JAEGAR (Brian) in the hall. Let me tell you, he looks exactly like his avatar :) Very nice young man with a lot of promise. I recall a sheath he made a while back that was expertly done. I never had a chance to talk to Jason Howell, his table was always full. Come see me in Uvalde next time you're in the area Jason! Good friend Johnny Stout and Katie are always refreshing to chat with. I even attended the club meeting after the show ended at 6. I was telling Johnny about my sheathmaking venture, and that I was learning from Paul Long. Johnny's going to let me make up some sheaths for his folders, so that was iceing on the cake. The crowd seemed a little low to me, but this was my first Austin show, so I have nothing to base this on. I'm not sure how sales really will be by the conclusion Sunday evening, but as of this evening everyone indicated that they weren't getting rich, but were enjoying meeting everyone. I didn't look to much at the commercial knives, but the quality of the handmade knives were 2nd to none, as I expected. I saw some of the most beautiful displays of art I could imagine, as did Carrie. We picked up an item or two, so I'll be checking my master card bill this month 8o
Overall, It was a great day for us, we enjoyed everyone, and their work. We were going to stay through Sunday afternoon, however had seen just about everything we came to look at, and were out of money, so we opted to travel back home. Thanks guys and ladies for a good day of friendship, we enjoyed meeting all of you.

Sorry I missed you. I too was there, as non table holder. Had a great time. Spent most of the time with Jack Puttnam. Clay Gault showed up late in the day. A true old timer in the field. Clay's looking badhope we can keep him around for a while. Delivered a nice Big Bear to collector Bob Jone's as well as a 6" Fighter. So even though I wasn't set up, the show was great for me. R.w. Wilsom was there out in the hall. Selling Supplies. Many of the younger people probaly don't know That R.W. Is one of the old Better makers. He was a well known Tomahawk, and Bowie maker three and a half decades ago. He use to show up and display his knives wearing a Beaver Top Hat, Bearclaw nickless. and lots of beads. The Guys a riot. Next Time you see R.W. wilson at a show Don't just dismiss him as a vendor. He is one of the oldies. Going back Sunday. Don't know any of you guys by name. Handles don't get it. I'M the bbig Guy with the white Hair, Pony Tail, and Big Bear sughilt. Yea, I've been around awhile too. Later Mike Lovett

Good to meet you and your lovely wife, Robert and you too Mike. The show had some beautiful work displayed and some sold. Les Vorhees(sp) sorry, had as good a show as anyone and was truly a pleasure to talk to, very nice young man. Tony Foster and Jim Sargent were there, with 100s of rare production knives. I beleive they made the big bucks at the show. This was my first time to have a table at this show, but cannot guage it to well, but managed to make expenses and buy some goodies from R.W. Wilson. Yes, he is certainly a one-of-a-kind. Always seems to have what you are needing or can point you in the right direction.

Went Back Sunday. Had a finished Big Bear with me. Although it was already spoken for. Walked around the show Sun, after noon. Wish so many people wouldn't pack up and leave so early. Lady at door wouldn't even charge my and I admition due t so many table holders leaving so early. Really does the Show, and Public a real discervece. Even though were an "Independent lot" You can't conduct Buisness in this fassion. How would you like going to your favorite resturant, or to the mall to pick up somthing and finding it closed. Why, Because they Felt Like it. Kills Buisness, There again I was only there to meet peopleBut still did very, very wellFrom 2:00 till Closing. Thanks Everyone for Leaving so early, Probaly made me an extra grand or two, Yee! Haaaw! I Love TEXAS, M. Lovett

Robert, I would have enjoyed spending a lot more time with you. Laverne isn't my wife, she's my mother.

Mike Lovett, thanks for coming by. Great to meet you. By the way, we left after 2:00 Sunday to catch our plane home.

Ken, I liked Les Voorhees a lot too. Another young maker, Lee, was extremely impressive with his unique lever opening folders.

I spent time with Rw Wilson. He grinds his damascus blades thinner than any I've ever seen. Like a razor blade. And yes, his first name is actually Rw. The W isn't an initial.

We had a great time. Thanks to all for your fine company and friendship.

Well that's even better! Bless her heart, she looks young enough to be your wife :D Carrie and I loved meeting and visiting with her at the table while you were gone.

Good talking with you Don, wish it could of been longer. Wanted to talk with you more on Sunday, but had to leave early, my mother is ill. Hopefully we can get together at another show or whatever. It was a pleasure to meet you.

Robert, wish you would have stopped by anyway. Sure hate I missed you. We had a great time at the show. The crowd was fairly good Friday, great Saturday AM, off and on the rest of the day, and Sunday was a typical Sunday. It was great to meet you Don. Hope everyone that made it had a great time, if you missed it, come next year!

It was great! Really enjoyed meeting a bunch of folks, Thanks Jason for explaining journeyman smith, etc.

Really enjoyed meeting Mr. Robinson, we talked for quite a while on the Barlow.

I enjoyed talking to ya!

The remark about leaving early was'nt directed at any one in particular. Especially not you Don. Shouldn't have included it in the same quote.. by three o'clock the place was empty. Shame. Hope I have not offended anyone. If I have it was not intentional. :(
