So.. as I mentioned in my last post.. (My First Axis Lock.. The Benchmade 940-2) while typing away the door bell rang.. this is what arrived..
Love it.. well most of it.. does anyone else think that the bright orange G 10 Back spacer is just a little out of place? I mean I realize it's part of the Hunt series but your not going to be wearing the knife outside your pocket while hunting.. so no real need for the bright orange color.. anyway.. what an awesome knife!!

I wish the bolster was brass, along with the washer, and that instead of a G10 spacer it had brass standoffs. Basically make the knife an updated tribute to the 110.

It would be nice if Buck had the.. I don't know.. Insite.. Ability.. or interest.. Whatever you want to call it to produce a truly modern folder along the same lines as the Crooked River.. But then again I love my 110's.. If for no other reason than nostalgia.. Nothing like brass and steel with some nice old wood thrown in to make an old fella smile.. Kind of like the feeling you get with and old Smith and Wesson Revolver.. :)

I handled one and loved it, but waiting for the "crooked river mini". It's beautiful and sturdy, but too large for my pockets. My 484-1 or 586 cut everything I ask of them at a smaller size.

It is a large knife.. Hopefully they will come out with a smaller version as with Bucks 112..

The Bone Collector 15050 (bottom knife) was probably closer to a Buck 110 tribute aside from the blade shape. That one would have looked great with a brass-colored anodizing on the aluminum.

Like everyone else, I am anxiously awaiting a mini Crooked River.

I'm going to Rit Dye my orange G-10 backspacer and see if that fixes the color.

I'm thinking of doing the same.. Rob Bixby has a video on YouTube of his with a dyed back spacer.. Looks a lot better..

Oh ya so much better. I ordered some dark brown so hopefully mine turns out the same way.

The limited edition is Beautiful.. Love the checkering on the scales and of course the wooden back spacer.. Very nice!! 👊 👊 👊

Got the Rit dye today. Put a whole pack of Dark Brown in 3 cups of water with 1 cup vinegar. 40 minutes at boil. Turned out really nice.

Wow!! What a difference!! Great Job!! 👊 👊 👊 👊 👊

Thanks man! So much better than that orange color

Absolutely.. and yours looks even better... Than the other example. :).. Have some Rit Dye showing up today.. already removed the backspacer hopefully mine turns out as well as yours.

Make sure to use a paper clip to hold the spacer off the bottom of the pot. Helps to get the color throughout.
