I thought I would post pics of my new 5 blade mini trapper made by Case, model 5507 in stag. Truthfully I knew nothing about this series made around 1998, and when I saw this brand new one sitting in its box and handled it I had to buy it.

Does anyone else have one that is similar? Are there any 1st edition Baby Beast hanging around out there in the wild? If anyone can add any further knowledge or history that would be great.:)

Post pics of your Baby Beast if you have them.

This knife is a second edition run. Enjoy!

Thanks for posting this. Not a pattern I'd seen before. Looks to be quite the handful, what is the closed length?

Thanks Ocellatus. It is 3 1/2" closed. Fills the hand nicely with the stag slabs on either side.

Interesting knife. I like how each blade has its own spring. The stag is nicely matched too and doesn't have the excessive bulge that sometimes accompanies stag handled knives.

You mentioned "around 1998" which is true. I believe the tang stamp dates it to 1996.

Thanks Railsplitter. It was the stag that drew me to this knife. I bought it from a former Case dealer, and it had been sitting for almost two decades in the box. Check out the "cult of the peanut" thread, I posted pics of a Peanut multi blade I bought from him as well.

Case did a beautiful job on both knives.
