Well..... Not exactly released by spyderco that is :D

I have always wanted to dye my white endura. I was in the supermarket doing some shopping when I came across the rit dye. There was not a very large selection(only about 5 colors). I saw navy blue....na to dark, I saw forest green....naa to dark, I saw yellow...already have the salts, then I saw royal blue which on the package appeared to be the lightest of the blues. So I choose that(I wanted a type of "baby" blue)

Went home and boiled up a pot of water, while taking my endura apart. I did not use the whole package of the blue because I thought it would have been too blue, I used very very little and stirred it around. Dropped my two scales and backspacer in and waited abut 25...30 seconds. I took out one scale and found that the color was exactly what I wanted so under cold water I rinsed out the parts. Dried them off, reassembled and got this!!

Not that bad, huh?

If I only knew how to post them without the link....

Wow, that came out really nice. Is there any chance that the dye will run off? That would really stink.

Oh, I use Photobucket to post my pics. If Imageshack provides you a direct link for your pictures, you can just use that link to post a pic. All you have to do is when you reply to a post (or start a thread) click the mountain icon and then insert your link. ;)

The brand name is "rit" dye

As far as running off, I think without any hard use it should be good..

If not re dye it!

Very nice!

Very nice. I believe you may have started something! Do it yourself camo, matching outfits for those special nights, or bringing out the green in my eyes!

wow, I am really shocked with the quality of the results!!

I am curious to see how it is effected by wear. FRN is very tough, so I can't really see it wearing off, though if it does it could leave a nice effect (or not).

now someone needs to dye one orange!!

Josh thanks for the HUGEEEEE pictures haha

And if they only had orange I would have been all over it!

That looks amazing! Much better than I would have suspected. Wonder if Spyderco will sell us some of the white scales so we can experiment?

I like that!! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Now to get the boys @ Spyderco to make em now :)

That looks amazing, nice work! I never would have thought it would work so well. I wonder how it will hold up.

Nice job. I've been toying with the idea of seeing if I can tint a SAK to more of an orange.

Posting pictures is totally easy. You've already uploaded the pictures to an image host, which is the hardest part.

From the gallery, click the picture you want to post. See off to the side where it says "Embed this image"?

Copy the string of text next to where it says "forum", and paste it into your post. That's all there is to it.

If you want to post a smaller image that links to a larger image, do the same thing with the text under "Embed thumbnails of this image"
