Just a note to let forumites know that our Bando buddies are alive, well, and kicking. I received maybe a dozen emails last week from them. Half of those ordered khukuris -- thanks Bando Buddies.

And they tell me that even though they do not post they keep up with the HI forum on almost a daily basis and really enjoy it.

They tell me to remind folks if anybody is interested in learning more about Bando email me either here in the forum or personally and I will send you in the right direction. I might add the Bando people I know are top notch.

Bill, as I recall, there are nine animal systems plus the monk style in Bando ( correct me if I am mistaken ). Now that I have Sirupatis in 12,15, and 20" lengths, maybe I should learn more.

Is one of the animal systems based on the way of the jackass? If so, I ( and perhaps our friend who originated the Reno ivory ban post ) would appear to be emminently endowed with the natural talent to excel, even surpass in it. Just think, a black belt in under a week!

Just poking fun at myself, and inviting those who share the same traits to join in the laughter.

Rusty, that did make me laugh. And humor has always been welcome in the HI forum along with many other considerations. Laughter is good medicine.

Having been a part time resident of this part of the world, including the Death Valley area (Seldom Seen Slim of Ballarat was one of my pals) for many years I remember the incredible amount of wild "jackasses" that used to hang around in Death Valley. I was a motorcycle rider in those days, a trail rider who would often head up in the Panamints, Cottonwood, or other ranges around Death Valley and the donkey dung on the road was a real and present danger to bikers. Hit a fresh, slick batch rounding one of those mountain curves and you were down!

On the serious note I think you are right about the Bando disciplines. If you want to learn more I can put you in touch with the secretary of the ABA and he will send you down the right path.
