For what it's worth, I kinda think it would be a great idea to have the BCCI Club 110 serialized as a "Limited Edition" knife. As this is a one of a kind incarnation for the Buck 110, it would seem fitting to assign some manner of exclusivity to the first 200 knives produced. I believe that when first notice of the knives appeared, it may have been mentioned as one of the possible attributes that would accompany the knife. None of us know if the knife as we may or may not receive it will be produced in the future as an option or as possibly a standard offering by Buck Knives. As a Club knife however, it would do itself well to possess some true indicator of it's original, intended purpose...that of a series of Buck 110 folding hunters each possessing an unprecidented number of changes from the "classic style" thus far produced and sold by the millions over the years. At the present time, I don't think that production of the knives has begun and, with that in mind, this modification could still possibly be introduced. If an increase in price would be warranted for this "serialization", I for one would gladly pay the additional cost, if I would be one of those who will get one of the knives. I hope I'm not ruffling any feathers in putting this out here after all the work that has already gone into this great knife's development so far..

Hmmmm...Nobody else wants to voice an opinion, huh??? Chickens!!! :D

My $.02...If there was to be a custom tang stamp [*not* a blade etching!], how about just a two-line "BCCI 2005"??? :)

Or even the Idaho & BCCI??? ;)

But *please* don't booger up the blade with etchings... :barf:

I agree wholeheartedly with you jj and you too Trax...No etchings...Just "something" to denote it as a Club knife for this year......

IIRC this is a fundraising knife not a club knife FWIW. Preston

update = i heard form larry today! i had asked about the balde stamping and if it was a 110 custom anvle or 110 and a year mark and he said
" Dave,
I received your order and I will put you down for an additional knife. We will see how the knives are stamped when they arrive.
Regards,
Larry "
so as of today they had NOT sold out yet! and it is knot known how the blades are stamped ...
hummm i bet  Joe H. knows or that he can find out! how about it Joe?:D

i had a sujestion of to shave the rear bolster and use a simi full scale on it for the next order!

In all honesty, I don't know anything at all about this. I first heard about it when Larry mentioned it in a thread about drop-point 110's. The Newsletter order form didn't say whether it was a fund-raiser or an annual offering.

But we're all just blowing smoke anyway... :D

Trax, you leave that smoke alone:p...get to work on them cutting board scales. Preston

The drop point 110 is a BCCI fund-raiser knife, just like last years 110 was a fund-raiser. I think John has mentioned it helps offset the costs involved with the news letter and BCCI website. I'm sure Buck cuts the Club a great price, and in turn, keeps membership costs lower, with profits from sales.
Last years 110 with S30V blade and honey worm-groove bone handles were not numbered, and I have yet to see one for sale. Even with out "numbering" the drop point 110, I'll bet Buck will distinguish these from future production ones with the placement of the "Bos" logo or the "designers choice" stamp for future custom shop ones......just 2 cents, hittin the floor;)

I would rather they left off any extra markings. Some may find this hard to believe, but I plan to use mine. I've wished for a drop-point 110 for a long time (it simply makes too much sense, though I understand Buck not wanting to mess with success) that I just can't leave it in the drawer. Besides, a clean blade is much more appealing to me anyway. And if we're allowed to daydream a little, give me the option of brass bolsters and a 1095 blade.

   :D :D We have now sold 181 of these knives. This project is, by far, the fastest selling knife the club has ever offered. Thanks to all of you who have ordered.:) :) :) :)

If 334dave is any indication, several of those who bought one also indicated they would purchase another if available...(maybe more than one?)

...So...When does the 2nd production run begin??? Maybe not another 200...but 50, or maybe 75 would sell out as well??? :D

I'll look into my piggy bank and see if I can get a check into the mail for one.
But I do think a tang stamp would be cool even though I plan to use mine...maybe I'll ask for an additional to preserve in a time capsule or something.
Kindest Regards,
Me.

As of yesterday's mail, 156 club members have ordered 231 of these 110s. Since we are doing a run of only 200, some (or all) of the people who ordered three or more will only get two. If orders continue to come in, it is possible that some club members who ordered two (and late in the game) will only get one.

Larry,

I believe I put in for two. If I did, I will just take one. Bought two of the Custom 110's in same configuration .

I'll drop you an email...

EDIT: Email sent. Glad to make room for someone else to get one. I would like these seralized and with the BCCI identifer. But not my BCCI number.

I thought Mike was doing that, too...have a matched set of clip & drop...Now you guys got me thinking that way... :p

I rather give up one than them extend the run. When I am old and gray (oops.. already there) I will like telling the grandkids as I pass them down, that there are only 200 made in that configuration.

Plus, I have to quit this buying two or more of everything.
