From the DOTD 10/21 thread, I got this wonderful 10 1/4 inch 9 ounce Kumar Karda by Rajkumar with a carved horn handle. It arrived the other day, and I cleaned it up and got a chance to take some nice pictures out doors today, so I thought I'd share this little beauty with everyone.
I would say this knife has the length and feel roughly of a KA-BAR USMC knife, but with Nepali flair, and much, much thicker blade. It feels great in the hand, very useful and nimble, and the construction is simply a treasure to hold. Imagine, all this work done by hand?!?
Some closer pics of the handle - the carving here is exquisite. The Kami marks are quite prominent as well
Thanks for looking everyone, and my thanks to the Kamis for providing us with such wonderful hand made pieces, but most of all a thanks to Ms. Yangdu for everything she does for us, and for the Kamis.
