The best 1k stone under $70...

Shapton Glass 1k
Nubatama Bamboo Gold 1k
Imanishi 1k
Arashiyama 1k

I am leaning toward the Shapton Pro. I just need a 1k to bridge the gap between my Beston 500 and my Naniwa Green Brick 2k.

Of those the Shapton pro 1k a probably the best bang for the dollar. Hard and slow wearing but very fast cuttng and will handle any steel.

I recommend the Arashiyama 1k a lot but it's only slightly better than a king 1k and combos well with the Arashiyama 6k.

Love my Shapton Pro was my favorite stone until I got a belt grinder.
