The last few Christmases, since around 2016, have been sort of rough for Alayna and I. I won't go into all the details. I'll just say that after of really not feeling the Christmas spirit or feeling like celebrating for a number of reasons, it seems I managed to come out the other side of something this year. Repeatedly re-injuring a leg that should have had a surgery i couldn't afford two and a half years ago made the financial side of it a challenge i could not have overcome without the help of a few dear friends here. You know who you are, so I won't out you by naming you. I just want to take a minute to say thank you to you guys for being a such a huge part of the very best Christmas I can recall having in a very long time, and share a few of the moments in time from my Christmas Eve out having dinner with Alayna with our friends at Totto who have become like family to us, walking through town drinking hot cocoa looking at the pretty lights that made Alayna laugh and smile, then heralding the coming of Christmas with a midnight service at our church and singing silent night by candle light, and then Christmas morning with both my daughters and my grandson that I was so very blessed in getting to experience and capture. So to those of you who played a role in this, thank you all so very much!! To all of you i hope your Christmas was just as blessed and merry as our's was!!

Such a heartwarming story, brought to life by some amazing photos. The second to the end cracks me up. Thanks for sharing.

That kind of love and joy is incredibly uncommon (or at least that has been my experience). You’ve clearly done a heck of a lot of the important things right.

Congratulations!

Thank you! This one was very special to me for a lot of reasons, and I wanted to capture as many of the special moments as I could. And yes, that second to the last photo has had me cracking up every time I see it since that morning. It's one of my favorite pictures I have ever taken too. After the childhood I had, I have been praying to the great power in our universe asking for help in doing this right since the moment my oldest was born and I spent a half hour or so just walking the halls of East Ridge Hospital just looking into her eyes and talking to her after the nurse handed her to me. I spent the last hours of daylight on New Years Day sitting by a creek talking to God and giving thanks.
