I just love the delica with it's FRN and SS liners.

(That's my current EDC system)

The Superblue edition with an aftermarket clip makes it pretty sweet I say. It's a go to EDC of choice.

I wonder how the more recent Hap40 versions are comparing the the SB steel. Anyone has experience with both steels? The hap40 version is asking a bit more $, I wonder if there would be a noted difference between these two's performance. I understand it should be similar to M4?

I've carried a HAP40 Delica for about 3 months now, I carried a Super Blue Endura for 8 months when they were first introduced. I think I prefer HAP40 over Super Blue. It's more stain resistant, the edge retention is better, and it's just as easy to keep sharp on something like a Sharpmaker.

There's a big thread on HAP40 with lots of comments comparing to SB, M4, etc....
I have the HAP40 Delica as well but it's in my collector pile.... Same as with super blue... Because these are sprints and will be hard to replace if i use it love it and lost it....

I like both steels. They both seem to hold an edge really well and are easy to maintain. HAP40 is a little more rust resistant than Super Blue. Dunno quite yet about edge retention or toughness.

All of this. ^

I have quite a few edc's that I love but my zdp-189 Delica has taken over my pocket. I'm looking forward to the Hap40 one I have on the way. For me it's just a great size and value.

They are such nice knives :)

I did this with my SB endura

Now I am thinking of getting the HAP40 Endura to swap the blade into my factory G10 one, if not HAP40, a ZDP-189 blade is also in my considerations... Both should make a good match up.

I own 5 Delica 4 FFG in various colors. I have yet to own a Hap40 or ZDP one yet. I got rid of my waved Delica. Hard on the jeans when you keep playing with it....

I know its not what your talking about exactly but what is your keychain setup? I see the VIC classic and the AAA thrunite. But what are the other three items and what clip system do you use?

The SAK is a Alox Mini Champ, it is pretty cool. The flashlight is a titanium thrunite 169lumens. equipped with a lithium AAA it gets the job done plenty times over. The whistle is a Rockbros and it is full Ti, no plastic inserts. Then since the Alox SAK has no toothpick, I got a Titaner one and it is pretty good. Lastly there is a Victorinox keychain nail clipper. the quality is pretty decent. The rings and carabiners are all Titanium too. The small kit makes for a superb EDC cary that is very office friendly.

I have a Superblue Stretch and a Delica and Endura in HAP40. Performance wise I find the steels fairly similar and yet... I seem to be able to get the HAP40 sharper with less effort.. It may be due to the grinds as the HAP40 knives seem to be slightly thinner behind the edge, at least on my samples. I greatly prefer the increased stain resistance in HAP40. I have not given it any extra care and after over a month of everyday use I have yet to see any noticeable patina. I'd say it is a little more wear resistant as well.

You can never go wrong with a Delica. I carry one more than anything else.

I just bought a blue Deli to go with this one. I have a black Delica here to give to my son too.
