My brother brought this large Opinel back from Switzerland with him...was in his carry on bag so you know this was back in the good old days...lol. I just had to take a pic of it with my baby Opinel...

Here is that 9 inch bladed monster in hand...

What marvelous knives these are and while I don't collect the Opinels I do collect one of their offspring, the Cold Steel Twistmasters. Here are the Opinels with just a couple of my Twisty's...one medium and one large...

Not sure if its the shape of the blade or not but you look kinda grumpy in the third pic.

It is very sharp, definitely a usable blade, spine is about 1/8 of an inch thick as well. Trust me... must be blade distortion, how could anyone hold that monster and not be smiling!

Just me, still that large Opinel is almost too neat to use.
Then again watermelon busted on the bumper of a pick up truck always tasted better anyway.
