Just got a BK7 for christmas! It's the first expensive and large knife I have ever gotten, and the only outdoors suited one other than the Mora Clipper. Any opinions on it? What do you think of it? So far, it hasn't really gotten any action, other than some lighter batoning for backyard firewood, and its very minimal use on one snowshoeing trip.

So, what are your experiences with them?

Quite extensive actually. It was my first Becker knife, and it is what I have dubbed, "The little black dresss of the Becker lineup". For a reason.

Probably the most middle of the road versitile knife I have had the pleasure of having by my side. It can chop, split, carve, whittle, bore, and cleave flesh. Its named the Utility for a very good reason.

Its the perfect knife to have with you in a bad situation. I have used the BK7 on animals, and for just about everything a good woods knife can be used for. Its light, quick, and completely overbuilt.

Welcome to the fold, and forums. Glad you're here.

Moosez45 covered it.

Welcome....

except that he still has one, new in box, called his Precious :)

we won't talk about the black dress though :>

good stuff.

yar.

I used to loath midsize blades. Never enough to chop with, rarely comfortable for slicing and carving. The BK7 redefines this class. It can chop, it can slice, it can carve. It splits my wood and then makes fuzzies. It makes trap parts, it makes lunch. It kills bears and ninjas. Pirates wish they could get their hands on one.

The BK7 is my personal favorite of the entire Becker lineup. Well, at least the ones I own, anyway. In fact, I like the BK7 so much, I have two of them.

Congrats on your new blade, and welcome to the forums!!! Stick around awhile, there's a good bunch of fellas here!!!

I got the BK2 and 9 before the 7.After that I got a 7 to try and it has become one of my main used field knives. It can do it all. If I had to own only one Becker  , it would be my 7

Man , I wish I had one 20 years ago !!!!

We sport a couple of 7's in the Guyon household. My wife has one, and so do I. It's a great jack-of-all-trades camp knife.

I agree with others, it's a great Jack of all trades, and is often the fixed blade I carry. It works well both in town and in the woods, an excellent design.

Did Moose say that he wears a black dress? Well, to each their own, I guess. Please, no pics! :D

No dresses, kilts. Dresses have tops and I prefer to go bare chested.

What has been imagined cannot be unimagined.

I believe the BK-7 to be the most versatile in the CURRENT lineup. Between it and the Brute, I have my two favs.

i'd have to give a nod to the BK5 as the most VERSATILE. that's just me.

by the time i'm doing anything that pushes the BK5s abilities, i might be thinking "mmm, might want a khukri or hatchet for axe about now"...

it's super tough, fast, like, and a wicked overall slicer.
