Hello out there!

Maybe this is posted before, sorry if thats the case. This is my first post.
I am planning on getting a Becker BK2 with a kydex sheath and a teklok. Ive read alot of threads here about grivory handle modding. And lot of people find the grivory handle slick. I want to be prepared if thats the case

Everyone have different experience with the handles, and there is many opinions out there

I just want to gather all these recommendations. Maybe if you tried more than one mod you could rate it 0-5 stars in effectiveness, durability, looks and all that...

This thread is not made to be a showroom thread. Its made for which mods to choose .

When i get it i will ofcourse try the most of them out.

The most used mods ive come across is
Dremel work
Bike inner tube
Soldering iron
Racket/hockey tape

And... Hard to make or expensive replacement scales..

I am kinda on a budget so this should be a thread for mods that could work as a alternative for example the expensive mircarta scales. I am not a big handyman myself so wood work will be limited. I am one of the younger people on this forum and i dont roll in a lot of cash for example micarta scales

Im european(denmark) so can not send my knife to anybody that do wood work or something like that. I would be able to recieve something though(have some friends which can give me the item, in the short window of time im in the US.

Sorry for my bad english

Thanks out there!

Feel free to post pictures of your mods!!! Sorry

I took a small triangle file and did a simple diamond pattern in the grivory handles of my BK 5. The lines were about 0.25 inches apart and it gave a lot of grip.

I used a hacksaw blade to cut slots in the scales of my BK-7 (same handle size & shape as the BK-2 & other full-size Beckers). In cold weather, when wet and snowy, I noticed the handle would shift a little in my hand, especially with cloth gloves. The slots fixed it.

I switched out the scale screws for slotted screws, heated them over a gas flame, and dropped them in cold water. It turned them a nice purplish color, and I can use the large flat screwdriver on my Victorinox Huntsman to take the scales off.
