My manuscript has arrived at the literary agents office.
I need luck in abundance.

Long ago attending writing workshops I heard many stories
of writers signing away too many rights,
too much money,
or otherwise taken advantage of in many ways.

i have read a bit about that.
i will be careful. i have several published friends, so maybe i can get a good deal IF they like the book.
(im a crappy writer, so its gonna take a lot of luck and probably 10 revisions)
 
A few months ago I was getting kicked out of the AF, with no marketable trade on the outside and a family that relies on me. Now I'm re-enlisting and retraining into a career field that is high demand on the outside. My family is safe for at least four more years.

Danny I formally pass any of the luck I have left to you. My daughter's nickname is Pooka so maybe some leprechaun has taken a fancy to my mischievious little girl and wanted to insure her way of life. In any case, its yours now for whatever thats worth.

Best of luck, Danny. Writing is tough. Is it OK to guess that it's SF?
 
Well, its hard to explain.
Casically, its a book that teaches you how to be a character out of a science fiction book.

Kinda like "how to be batman."
the idea is fiction, but everything in it is based upon scientific fact.

Give me a few weeks and then maybe we can do that
 
Whenever you're ready. I've read so much SF/fantasy that, if I took 1 sentence from each, I'd have my own novel.

VHD, please ask Danny to give your luck back. That's like asking to take the problems and troubles of your friends or church on your own back and nothing good comes from it!
I can only say that it comes from watching a grandson do something very similar and did his life ever change for the worst! It took a couple of months before he realized what he had done and asked to have it done away with and reversed.
His life suddenly got easier.
You may think I'm a superstitious old fool and perhaps I am, but I know what I saw.:(

Danny it would be good if you graciously refused VHD's offer and gave it back. Good karma for you in the end.

You got it, DIJ. I'm sure you'll do great. I wish the best of luck for you, but i wish even harder that you land a kick @ss book deal on your talant as writer. Keep us posted.

I could use a book like that. :)

I'd clean up the town and kick out all the commies. Just like the old superman comics.
