The handle is sparkly, like it has flattened crystals growing on it. The blade appears to be gold plated. It fits my hand without weighing it down. It looks like a million, no two million, dollars.

What is it? What is it called? (What makes me think that I deserve a knife this extraordinary?)

Bruce Dollinger, BCCI, kindly set me up (thx Bruce) with a membership and this terrific knife and he calls it: "champagne frame, gold ion fussion Buck Custom blade."

A few pics for your amusement:

I'm glad you got one... I hope you told Bruce hi for me... Nice one for sure... ... ITE

I may be in error on this comment, but I don't think that it is one of the Ion Fusion blades. The Ion Fusion Blades were a special coating of extreme hardness. The blades were sharpened only on one side, leaving the hardened side as the cutting edge. It appears that your knife has both sides sharpened. The coating in gold, however, is unusual and the custom stamp suggests that it was specially made.

Now I'll jump into my foxhole and wait for the artillery from those more knowledgeable to start flying.

Telechronos, what you said about the coating is true and you have sharp eyes for spotting the both side sharpening. It is still a very beautiful knife.

Tele, No need to run for the fox hole . As I'm seeing the same thing . Perhaps he got one that was sharpened on both sides . Nice knives Oregon and welcome to the Buck collectors . I'm sure you met Bruce in person at the Oregon show . He's a real jovial sort . DM

I think it is a Ion Fusion blades and I think Joe H had them sharpen both side... Leroy does the same thing... It won't hurt the blade... They cut better that way... That's what I heard anyway... But what do I know....

It is an Ion Fusion blade. We ended up sharpening them on both sides on the later runs/buildouts.

I said that I was in my foxhole. Didn't know that later knives were sharpened on both sides. Sort of made the Ion Fusion idea nothing but decorative I guess.

Thank you kindly everyone for your comments and for looking at the pics.

I've printed the certificate of authenticity, provided by THE_LONGBOW (thank you), and will keep it in the box that the knife arrived in.

The knife goes into a place of honor.

Bruce D. has a treasure of rare and wonderful buck knives. You walk near his table, I'm thinking of this year's OKCA here, at your bank account's peril. It felt to me like an earthquake upset the usual order of things revealing, what would take a lifetime to acquire, instantly everything you could ever want in a Buck knife without searching for year upon year.

I appreciate the warm welcome to BCCI. What a terrific start with this knife!

Please don't hesitate to post pics of your 560s or other Buck Titanium folders here.
