You can capture some of the style, art and aesthetic of the golden years of fine cutlery for relatively little money!
Just find the boxes the knives came in!!:D
They often cost a fraction of the price you would pay for a related knife!!
Please show them if you have them!!

Wow! Those Labels are amazing when you take the time and take in all the detail.
I can guarantee that most people would not stop and take the time to look at the details in the companies motifs and stunning artwork and design.
This is way cool waynorth

Thanks Duncan!
Glad you like them!!
Is the Lockwood Brothers box the same as yours??

Fantastic box collection Charlie! Searching for the related memorabilia is almost as much fun as finding the old knives themselves!

Thank you for sharing your collection, Charlie. Looks like you've got most of them. ;)

Here's an uncommon plier knife box...

This is incredibly cool. Who knew that such pleasure could be gained by viewing the packaging that cutlery came in?

My grandfather actually made a living back in days long past as an artist who specialized in advertising artwork. I wonder if he ever did any work involving cutlery... I have a large book full of some of his work, I will have to peruse it and see.

Ha ha! I don't have most of them by a long shot, Jake!
Nice H.H.H. box!!

Wonderful Charlie:thumbsup: I see someone takes old knife (and other) boxes and turns then into glass paperweights on the auction site. Sacrilegious to some but they are:cool:

Thanks for posting! I pick up lots of old knives but almost never get the boxes they came in:(

Fantastic-pics-i love em.
the one that grabbed my eye is in the first pic with New Britain-
New Britain is an island of the Papua New Guinea region to the north of Australia.
Along with New Ireland its reputed to be the cannibal island of Robinson Crusoe fame or nearby.
maybe there're 2 new britains.

Thanks for contributing to the thread, Neal! Nice boxes!!
There was a Camillus on auction a few days ago, not as nice as yours.
Someone outbid me on it.

The New Britain on the box is in the USA, Meako, in Connecticut. There might be cannibals there, though?? I've never been there!:D

Per Wiki "The city's official nickname is the "Hardware City" because of its history as a manufacturing center and as the headquarters of Stanley, Black and Decker. Because of its large Polish population, the city is often playfully referred to as "New Britski."
