I've been a huge boxing fan since I was a kid. I'm a trained boxer and did MMA before it was MMA. A lot of amazing boxing has been happening.

Tank Davis went up in weight class and shocked me by beating Mario Barrios last night. Barrios showed a lot of heart by getting knocked down 3 times and still wanting to fight. Amazing stuff and hats off to Davis for this epic win. I wonder who's next for him.

Lomachenko defeated Nakatani easily while making ground beef of his face at the same time. I think that he was indeed injured when he fought Lopez. The pictures of him post surgery to his right shoulder says it all. I don't think Lopez can duck Loma for a second fight. Eventually he'll have to cave, but with his recent COVID diagnosis and him having to postpone his fight with Kambosos until August, I'm not sure how Lopez will fair. Lopez will use his illness as an excuse if he loses, and then he'll have to fight Loma again. Unless Loma goes for Kambosos. Exciting stuff.

Wilder v Fury III is meh for me. I hope Fury steamrolls Wilder and Wilder hangs up his gloves for good. He's a one trick pony as Fury said. And he can't Box. He's not an artist like Fury. We'll see.

Wilder or Fury, I wish there as a way for both to lose. Can’t stand either one.

I’ve always been a fan of boxing, but haven’t followed it much the last few years. Some people thrive on the trash talk leading up to fights, but it turns me off mostly. Also too many divisions, to many “champions” these days for my liking. Dilutes things too much imo.

I like Fury. He's a no BS kinda guy (it seems), and he is a talented boxer. For his size, he can move like Mayweather, which is really impressive.

Agreed on the trash talk. I don't watch any of it. I just watch the actual fight. Boxing has really exploded again in the last couple of years. I am thoroughly enjoying the resurgence.

What do you think of all the old boxers coming out of retirement for the “exhibition” matches? Don’t want to jinx anyone, but someones going to get hurt if this continues. Same with the youtubers, I don’t blame them for going after the big payday, but sooner or later they’re going to talk themselves into a fight with someone with real skills and it won’t be pretty.

Fury needs to lose at least once, maybe that will moderate the endless insults and ”I am the greatest” blather. No denying he’s a force in the ring though.

I hate that Mayweather took that money grab fight. Boxing has given him everything, and that's how he repays the sport he says he loves? By taking a fight he admits was basically robbing the bank? Stupid and unnecessary.

I'm looking forward to Paquiao v. Spence. Should be good.

If Fury wins again, I think AJ will give a fight he doesn't expect. AJ can be the one to shut Fury up if he is at the top of his game.

Mayweather really lowered himself for that one. Money or not, one of the best boxers ever doesn’t take that fight. Could you imagine Ali doing something like that? Not likely. Isn’t he like a billionaire anyway? How much money does he need? And AJ, the debacle against Ruiz really put a question mark on him that he hasn’t shaken yet.

IMO, Mayweather set back boxing 100 years. How many guys did he "beat" that he never even really hurt? His fights all sucked. He's a walking argument for going back to no round limits and fight until one is finished. Oh and Mayweather is a serial woman-beater too, so screw him.

I like Wilder. His "one trick" has been a pretty good one - good enough to send Fury and his big mouth to the canvas twice the first time they fought. If I want to see artists, I'll tune into Bob Ross "Joy of Painting" reruns. When I tune into a fight, I want to see somebody kick somebody else's butt. Period.

Loma . . . I was a big fan, but Lopez surprised me and exposed him. I do not see Loma ever regaining his former stature.

The thing that turns me off the most to boxing is the long stretches of inactivity. Look at Crawford. He has fought exactly ONE fight since Dece, ber 2019, and has no fights schedued for the rest of 2021. How is he considered an "active" boxer? Titles, ranking, and pound-for-pound ratings should all be forfeited after more than six months of inactivity. Sugar Ray Leonard fought NINE times in 1979, and then three times each in 1980 and 1981. Sure there were some cupcakes, but he fought Ajub Kalule, Wifred Benitez, Thomas Hearns and Roberto Duran (TWICE) all in a period of less than 22 months.

I think that boxing talent overall is at a nadir. The mere fact that Canelo - who couldn't hardly even lay a glove on Mayweather eight years ago - is considered by many the best pound-for-pound boxer today, tells me that the field is weak.
