I was speaking with Eric Ochs (Great knife maker) the other day and he was talking about a fairly new material called C-Tek and C-Tek Matrix. I had not heard of it before but it sounded very interesting. Within a few days I had a customer ask for it on their knife. It is funny how the brain works, you learn a new word and then you hear it all the time.

The Bringer:
Steel: 3/16" Aldo W2 (W/Hamon)
OAL: 10"
Blade: 5"
Handle: Black & OD C-Tek with White G10 Spacer
Liner: White G10
Pins: 1/4" Mosaic & Alum. Tube, 1/8" Nickel
Misc: Tapered Tang, Balance point at front pin
Sheath: Black Leather (Right Hand)

In summary:
C-Tek is a great material that requires a little more planning than most commonly used handle materials. You have to work with the honeycomb layout and angles that you use. I will definitely be using it more in the future. Composite Craft has great customer service and communication with it's clients. I Ran into some issues during this build and went into more details in a thread over in Shop Talk. The thread can be found HERE if you are interested.

The customer took these photos.

Very nice Ryan, that's a great looking knife.

Very cool and I like the knife and chosen handle material

I like that one quite a bit myself. When I looked at it quickly, the handle reminded me of my old model 15 (Combat Masterpiece) S&W revolver. Brought back good memories.

Great steel (I have a Hanson folder with W2 in my pocket) and nice hamon.

I'm usually indifferent to these kinds of materials (carbon fiber? meh), but this one looks really cool.

Edit:

I neglected to add that it's an awesome knife, regardless of handle material.

I'm a huge revolver fan and you brought back some memories

I even dug my Combat Masterpiece out to play with :)

materials aside, that's a great design.

Happy to do so. The Combat Masterpiece was my first issued revolver on the job back in the day...and the "Bringer" looks like it can do just that. As Lorien says, it's a great design.

Thanks everyone for the comments! I had to search "Model 15 Combat Masterpiece" very nice revolver. I am not much of a revolver guy but that is beautiful.

Lorien I am sure there is some of your design influence in there. I have a hard time not drawing up a knife and thinking "What would Lorien Do"?

Ryan it is a great design and my EDC handgun is still a revolver except instead of steel it's Scandium and titanium

Old school still rolls real good :)

Hey, Ryan.....you gonna buy more? And you are right about our friends in Orlando.

Great looking knife Ryan, as has been said. I have use the C-tek on several knives but I really like the idea of using it to compliment it self in a different color. No question Composite Craft is top notch people too, great to work with from my experience. Keep those great looking blades going Ryan!

Thanks everyone for the comments. Joe My Backpacking gun is a S&W Model 327. But I have more training with the Glock so that is my EDC.

Thanks for posting Mike... I am not an authority on all things Wet, Sticky or Slick

But It is pretty "Glassy" if that is a word. I imagine if it were bloody it would be pretty slippery, but it was wet when I was working with it and it was still pretty secure in the hand.

Ryan, I just did a couple of sheaths for two hunters by Jerry Halfrich. They had the CTek slabs, Great looking and appears to be bullet proof for use.

Paul, That is great to hear! I look forward to seeing photos of Jerry's knives.
