About two years ago started looking more closely at survival sites. I read on one , the BK1 Brute is the best knife in his opinion,about $85.00. I thought"COOL" I want "THE BEST", especially for $85.00. Started looking around the internet and it was not for sale anywhere,then it began to show up on the bay at $220.00,ouch! i started to investigate this Becker knife company and made the decision that i want one. Closest I could see to a Brute was a Bk9, so the river store provided a place to purchase. My Bk9 has never failed to amaze at it's capabilities. After that was the 2,a 3 blank,11,14,and a 4 because I heard what a chopper it was. I still somehow wanted a Brute , I think becuase it started this ball rolling and I still had never touched one,even though Moosez45 did not report well on it. SO, long story long,i'm in a gun store in Bakersfield CA and there's a pristine Black jack Becker Bk1 Brute in the display case. Iv'e bid on maybe 3 on the bay at over $200.00 and lost, they were used or what i thought i could use. This thing is pristine,I dont think I want to just use it without checking with the collective, should I sell it to someone that would preserve it? Should I just make it mine and mod and use? Trade for some other stuff i'll use more,5,15?

I would use it or flip it. Why just sit on it? You all ready got a great deal on it and could double your money. Even if you use it and decide you don't want it you could still make a profit on it.
 
Why buy a knife if you're not going to use it? I have a tough time keeping safe queens. If it doesn't get used, it gets sold. I'd play with it, see if you like it better than the 9. If not, sell it. Probably make a profit still.
 
Thanks people, something will happen before to long! I'm enjoying the fondle factor at the moment. Sure feels nice and well balanced.
 
It's gonna get released at some point by KaBar. If you wanna use one to see if you like it, hold your horses and I'll loan you mine when the pass around is over. I probably won't get it back for a month and a half or two though.
 
I would go outside and build me a shelter and fire and do lots of fun things with it :D
 
there's not to many of those left...I would save it. Or flip it. If you use it, just figure its gonna cost you around $50-100 depending what you spent on it.
 
Thought you leaning to sending it to me so you wounldnt have to wrestle with this dilemma.
 
Well I guess it depends on if you would be happier using a knife you have always wanted or looking at it. I use mine. Realistically speaking they are only a couple hundred bucks. Strip that ugly gray stuff off there and beat the heck out of it.
