It's been ages since I've kept chickens, and yesterday, after finding TWO wood ticks crawling on me from a short walk across 50 feet or so of my huge lawn (at least a couple acres) I decided to get back into chicken farming, I stopped off at the local Agway and picked up some chicks (mainly so they can eat the stupid ticks once they're old enough to go outside)
I bought 3 Buff Orpington and 2 Plymouth Rock chicks, a heat lamp, water dispenser and food, I recycled an old Rubbermaid horse water bucket, and set up my Tick Destroyers down cellar to grow....
I had to stop at my sister's farm (down the road, but on our property still) to pick up my dog, she watches him while I'm at work, she has chickens, 13 hens and the aforementioned psychotic rooster
Before retrieving Cooper, I decided to visit the chickens, she free-ranges them, during my visit, I encountered the rooster, I knelt to offer him some fresh grass, as a sign of friendship, he sized me up and jumped at me in an intent to spur, as I was kneeling, I simply batted him away, open palm, then ridiculed him for a bit, as I stood to leave, that brought on a second spur attempt at my leg, a more agressive one, once again, I pushed him away, this time with a few choice words....
As I turned to leave, he attacked again, flying towards my lower back, at this point I have had enough, I had been nothing but nice to this walking dinner, heck, I even offered him some fresh grass at first, but no, he wanted to be the stereotypical rooster....
It was at this time I un pocketed the 110, the mcnugget heard the blade clack into place, saw the setting sun glint off the chrome bolsters and the scary-sharp blade....
He immediately backed off and became docile, and this time I advanced, taunting him, ridiculing him. He wasnt so tough NOW....
The Buck 110, so universal it's even recognized by psychotic poultry....
And just to be truly evil, I went to get Cooper, and before heading home, took him to "visit" the rooster, Cooper was on a short sturdy leash and under my control the whole time....

Somehow, Mr. Psycho was a lot more docile this time, finding himself staring at a 40 lb all-muscle Portuguese Water Dog with obsessive-compulsive issues who wants to be freinds....
The rooster was much, much humbler this time....
