Just won one off of ebay for cheap at least what I consider cheap. The fella auctioning it off said it was a "special run" of 50 for company. He had 4 of them with this being the last one. What does anyone know about the General in well general? keepem sharp and thanks

I know I've had one for over 30 years now. I have carried it all over, beat it up, and done about everything you can think to do with a knife that you aren't supposed to. Other than being a bit ugly it's still a good knife. I don't carry anything that large anymore but when I was a kid I was in heaven with that knife. It was my first fixed blade knife.

As far as history on the knife or any other Buck knowledge, sorry, can't help you much.

The knife is "technically" discontinued. It is no longer available through their catalogs, but there have been three different places that have had different models for sale. (maybe 4) Buck has been making them for other companies recently...

As for the 1 of 50, you need to be careful buying online, some people dont update their listings, and some use descriptions like that to help "sell" their items... If you go and check back with the listings from that seller, he just listed 2 more tonight... BUT the descriptions BOTH say they are the last one... ;) Enjoy your 120, she will be good to you ;)

On the Buck link above you can find information to help you date your knife. The Buck 120 can still be found new. It is not made anymore but there are ones for sale for about $65 for the "Pro Line" series. Some dating of the knife can be done by the sheath (if it came with the original). Enjoy your General (I have two).

According to the fella I bought it from he has a distributor that had 50 of them made up and these are the 50 his distributor had. No big deal to me really. They aren't numbered anyways. I have wanted one for quite some time but they have been "pricy" when I have found them, but that is usually with a wooden or pakka wood handle. I think it will make a great stump shooting knife. Something to dig my arrows out with. Keepem sharp

I know ;)
I bought one of those "50" over a year ago from that fella ;)
There were alot more than 50 made, thats why I said to enjoy it. It doesnt matter what the seller says, its a great knife! Enjoy it :D

The one I bought looks different than the Cabela's. The Cabela's looks like the 119 I own just without the writing on the blade. The 119 I have though is old and use as hell from camping. The one I bought looks like it is straight across the top of the spine with not as pronounced a clip although I really can't say for sure. As it doesn't show a full blade profile. I'll check the pics again though. keepem sharp

PS nope looks like a larger vs. of the 119 I have, now worries though in my book

The 120 looks like the 119 only with a lot longer blade. Buck 119 6" blade Buck 120 7 1/2" Blade.

Ah, but you don't grasp the language of the salesman...He said he had 50 of them made up and that was true...The fact that he had 250 *total* made up doesn't make him a liar - he did have 50 made up... :D

:D LOL... my bad ;) Thank goodness I didnt call the "salesman" a liar LOL :)

What about the part in the listing.- "THIS IS THE LAST ONE I HAVE" LMFAO!!!!
:)
