This is the way to go!! You can get the "Ward" brand tees at big plumbing supply houses. In another post I made earlier about Ron Reil's page, you can see some other super fine burner designs I hadn't seen myself until I went and had a look. I've now got my forge in the best order it's ever been in and welding hot and STABLE in 20min. with very little pressue.

Hmmmm, that looks like a great burner, I get time I'll try it out for my forge, it's getting about time to throw the old shell away and gut anouther freon tank anyway! I take it that it's a venturi design?

Does a blower added to the burner tend to eliminate a lot of problems? Which design is best to add a blower?

Jeff, the blower eliminates a lot of problems. None of the Venturi burners like back-pressure. My mini mongo's are always stove piping when the wind blows. The blower cuts most of this out.

Indian George has the neatest design for a forced air burner I've seen for a long time>

Excellent! I'll be checking it out next weekend then. You going to be there, Peter?

Venturi burners are ok, but I don't think anyone will ever be able to convince me that they are better than a forced air burner...forced air burners just offer so much better control and efficiency...

p.s. anvilring, looks like your buddy Joc has gone up on his ITC-100 price!?

You going to be there, Peter?

Afraid not. Remember the thread about the pitfalls of self employment...well that's one. Never any free time! :barf:

can't wait to see IG's burner setup, too....

FWIW, I use the side-arm burner. Quite happy with it. I have a magnet that I use to adjust the opening.

The only problem I have had with the side burner's is getting the stuff. When I ordered my Zoeller nozzles, I didn't order the Ward fitting. Ward is sold around here, but the required fittings aren't. The fittings all the stores have come from China and tailand, and absolutely nothing on them is square or centered to anything else. I have developed a number of techniques for centering everything to the nipple, but it's still quite a hassle. I have two rex burnners now, and I hope they are certainly made of entirely superior components.
