Can you please explain why this matters to the user in terms of functionality and toughness? I have lots of folders, don't think any use BB, so why is this a good thing? Thanks

Looks like the substitute bronze washers will be QUITE thick.

Ball bearings are GREAT for EDC, IMO. But for woods work, I'd have to move to bronze washers. My experience with ball bearing pivots is they gum up when they get dirty/muddy/bloody.
